  4. wow, thats a really beutiful guitar! if i played guitar (as oppose to bass) I would want one like that.
  5. You dont need a hight lock on it. You can just make a bench for it that is the right height to the resting sander (in place) the drum sander i have I only paid 4$ usd for, and the extra drum paper was only 3 bucks for 3 replacements.
  6. Camcool, ... firstly, do you even have to means to bookmatch wood? it may be better if you buy a regular top already bookmatched. And it may be even better if its not goncalo alves, because you could end up totoally ruining a beutiful peice of wood on your first build. that **** is really expensive, I doubt you are even serious about buying it.
  7. totally, or use a soldering iron. i saw somone use a soldering iron in a bass that is in the tourtial section of the main site. it looks decent.
  8. ok thanks. Ive always wanted to go to Ireland, looks like a real beutiful place.

  11. Hello alberto I think that this question has been anwsered before, so you can try using the search function. if you cant find anything im sure somone will help you out.
  12. I was thinking on the knobs i plan on making for my bass coming up, im using split shaft pots, so the knobs i make are going to be punched out with a hole cutting drillbit and all that then make the shaft hole 1/32 '' bigger than the shaft, and fill the hole with clay then press it over the shaft and squeese the exess out to get the shape of the shaft in it, then let it harden. it may not work, but if it does ill post a tourtial of how i did it.
  13. ive seen quartersawn planks with eyes.
  14. If you want to read more aobut zero frets, search MTD basses(on google), and there is a section on thier main site devoted to the zero fret that he uses.
  15. It also happens at branches and stuff. Its wherever there is a lot of strain on the wood, like if a tree is slanted over a river bank, then the side that is facing down is likley to have some crotch figure.
  16. Or brian could put if up on the main site (if we ask nicley)
  17. would you be able to use multiple (extreamly careful) passes with a table saw and a jig? and clean up where the blade cant reach with chisle?
