  1. MIMF has some but you have to pay, and this site does in the download section, but you have to be an advance supporter.

  3. ehh, im going to try making a pine neck.. and put a home made truss rod in it, i dont expect it to actually work....
  4. ooh thanks... downloading the gimp now, and at the same time searching for patent # lol
  5. You cut the shape and cavities after you gule the top on. And its fine if you cut into the mahogany (the top is only 1/4 or 1/8 of an inch)
  6. Hm, i just remembered somone talking about calling the patent office and getting plans for a guitar that way... is that posible?
  7. screw it, Ill whip out the ruler and pencil and get goin. Thanks tho, and when i finish (probley in a few days) I will scan it and post it up here.
  8. cool, thanks do you know where I could get a free coreldraw program, or would i have to pay?
  9. http://www.soundboards.co.uk/ I did a google search and came up with this, but there are probley tons of wood suplyers in the uk good luck
  10. *sigh* I hate to waist everybodys time, but Ive been looking all over for plans to a music man stingray (4 string) and I just cant find any. Does anyone know where there are any? I would make the plans myslef from pictures and such, but im not so confident with my CAD skills...
  11. He could do a neck thru body design with the top horn being attached to the neck and going up to the 12th freat about, that would provide enough support, but it would look like ****
  12. My basses name is luciel. I kinnda stole the name from B.B. king... my other basses name is ODEN , i dunno why
  13. sorry! this one should work http://www.mimf.com/cgi-bin/WebX?14@176.LI...qlQE^7@.ee74204 you have to regester to get in the library, but it only takes a couple of seconds and its free.
  14. Dan electro made a 32 fret guitar caled the 'guitaralin' and it was nicknamed the longhorn. Its imposible to play on such small frets tho, it wouldnt even make a real difference. Also the neck wouldnt be quite as stable if it is so long. they adress the issue in melvyn hiscock's book
  15. You can check the librarys of the MIMF http://64.4.30.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang=EN...0%2eee82742%2f0 its got a lot of good info on chambering guitars.
  16. I think tons of people have spent tons of time ripping off fender ideas and making it them selfs. Its only fair to give them an idea or 2 of yours. Kinnda like paying them back. but, it is a scam.. and i wouldnt give my best design to them by any means. (probley wouldnt win anyways :-p)
  17. LOL, i just picked up a widespread panic cd today at the cd store.
  18. I would geuss that its the same path that the string would follow if the bridge wasnt there.
  19. Im making a "practice bass" out of pine this week. I picked up a 2x12x10 the other day at lowes for 10 bucks. I figure I can get more than enough for a compleat bass body and neck out of that. The hardware ill put on it I will later remove and put on the real bass im making. This way i figure that I can get some good experence with out spending all the money on messing up good peices of wood. It will also be eayser to work with than hardwoods.
  20. Hey, i just got some "super tite-bond wood glue" from lowes for 5 bucks. I heard titebond was good and i saw that when i was shopping for other stuff so i picked it up. Is that the right kind for laminating and such?
  21. You could get a thinner pickguard and epoxy a veneer on top, it would look cool and still be strong. and you wouldnt have to laminate over and over again.
  22. ive seen built in destortion on a dan electro bass before. sounded pritty bad tho.
