  1. 12 guitars playable, one bass playable. two guitars in varous stages of completion
  2. yep, it's pretty sweet... i was not really expecting to win, i usually feel that I'm being e-sniped.. but I"m happy about that price! gives me a bit more cash for hardware etc.
  3. i finally caved and bought one, and it is easy to see why it is "industry standard" in the home-build industry.
  4. if you are looking for a good "starter" type neck, Brian sells the saga necks at universaljems.com... i'm probably going to grab one up for my harmony jag-refurb partay.. no sense buying a $25 body and slapping a $350 graphite neck on it
  5. exactly.. oldfield is so much more than just a keyboard riffer recipe for oldfield... humbucker in neck position with tone control rolled almost all the way off... then whammy the hell out of any held notes...
  6. i meant lame as in "considered lame by many on this forum" and i have built the tele kit thanks for the link, i'll check it out
  7. hi everyone, so my little cousin wants to "build a guitar" with me.. i was thinking of the LC10 kit.. is there anything that needs to be upgraded right away on those? IE on the tele/strat kits, upgrade tuners in order to haev a playable guitar... thanks all!
  8. although the route on the body (from the pics) looks like it could take a humbucker in the centre position... i need to get my hands on this physically so i can decide more
  9. since the body i got seems to be fitted for one single-coil type pickup, i was thinking of putting in a carvin cream and black twinblade humbucker... frig i'm excited about this guitar
  10. silhouette! http://www.broadwaymusicco.com/Harmony4.htm that page is set up so awfully it is basically not useful.. but still!
  11. i actually found out what model it is, but the name is evading me.. it is a harmony shadow, or silhouette.. or another word that means shadow.. hehe i'll go find it again
  12. finally.. for those who can't see the image copy and paste this into your address bar. http://www.freewebs.com/crises/neckplate.jpg
  13. also i think that most engravers will have no problem with the letters, but lots of problem with the actual bell.. they might be able to do a close approximation.. of course, take it in, i'm not an engraver and i don't know exactly what they can do... if you can find one that will do it it'll probably be $$$$$$$
  14. yessir.. i grew up on a steady diet.. the most amazing one-man-band-slash-producer ever... the number of recording techniques this guy pioneered is amazing. that being said, his recent stuff is sorta P-U.. although tubular bells one and two will always be fan-freakin-tastic
  15. http://www.webrocker.de/jaguar/jags/gold200xmij_special.jpg
  16. yep, i'm absolutely going for two pickups... does anyone sell a jazzmaster/jag style pickguard without the switch holes? hell it's probably cheaper to buy the pickguard stock and cut one out myself... i'm also waiting for the body to arrive to see exactly what sort of neck dimensions i'm working with.. i'm hoping that i'll be bale to get one of brian's saga necks, just because they're cheap.. gotta love economy style!
  17. i have a feeling it is going to be pretty heavily modded... in order to save me the trouble of buying expensive yet crappy harmony trem parts... i'm going to take a closer look at the body when i actually get it to determine what sort of hardware/pickups (and resulting routes) i'll have to do. i'm a pretty big fan of a HH combination, but i'm also thinking a P90 or a quarterpounder would look cool and suit the mood of the guitar
  18. didja see that little laughing man three times after his post? there's a hint in there somewhere...
  19. true that.. this is gonna be mostly a frankenstein from my extra parts from other projects... should be fun though!
  20. ohhh baby... time for some dick dale style rebuilding http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...item=3740427583 (yes.. i know dick dale plays a strat... but you know what i'm sayin')
  21. thank you, thank you.. i'm here to please
