  3. only had an hour to work on the body today. did some more work on the carve. as you can see its only rough sanded. here are 3 pictures. it looks better in reality then in the pics :-) . Carve 1 Carve 2
  4. Forge Guitars this is the link to that guys webpage.
  5. you're welcome. :-) around 30€ for a bad ass 7mm flamed maple top is killer. looking forward to my real RG 7 string project, where i will use one of those tops. and yes. this is wood porn.
  6. If anybody needs nice figured topwood in europe, here's a good link in my opinion: Holz Faszination
  7. Just found these pictures on the net: Carve 2
  8. thanks everybody, yes, its all done with a rough, a small rasp and sandingpaper of course. its fast and really exact, too. the carve took me about 2 hours.
  9. got some of the carve done today: Carve 2
  10. i would just build one. i had all the woodwork done in one afternoon. the only thing that took some time was the tolex. i build a 2x12 for a friend and it was really easy. the tolex, too. and its a really cool feeling to play your custom guitar through your custom cabinet.
  11. what do you guys think of the carve??? i dont really know how it's supposed to look. any suggestions??? thanks.
  12. update: started the carve an hour ago. here are the first pics. Carve 1 Carve 2
  13. i like this one a lot. but since i thought about this project for the first time about 72 hours ago, i will take some time to think about the finish. i got another question. is the headstock angled??? i also think about 7 or 12 strings. what do you think?!
  14. well, started the work on the body today. it seems soo huge. i hope i measured everything right. i guess it looks smaller, when the shapings are done. will start with them in a minute. here are the pictures after roughcutting the body and then the finished one. Body 2 Body 3
  15. hi alexvdl. i know. i just didn't draw it. thanks.
  16. Hi, my next project, hopefully starting tomorrow, is going to be a mosrite copy. i started drawing the template in a cheap CAD program. you can download the file at: Mosrite.dwg what do you guys think of the drawing. any advises??? i will use alder and maple neck. havent thought about the rest. i was a little spontanious this time. well, thats it for now. hopefully have some news tomorrow or friday. have a good night everybody.
  17. i bought the cloth at www.deichton.de. he lives 10 minutes from my house. its supposed to be some engl stuff. i'm not satisfied with it and want to get some wicker cane. that was the plan before i started bulding the cab, after i saw this on the mesa boogie site:
  18. i build my own cab, too. it has the large mesa boogie dimensions, and it has two vertical chambers. there are celestion g12-80 speakers installed. i dont have the chrome corners and handle yet, but the holes for the handles are routed. i'm really satisfied with the sound. aah, one chamber ist 1/4 open. can run it mono and stereo. here's a picture. wow, theres a lot of dust in the pic. gotta clean up.
  19. not a guitar at all, but i got an 1982 bmw 635csi for free this year.
  20. by the way....i did the strat with templates from guitarbuildingtemplates.com...it was so easy....so everybody go and buy yourself those templates.
  21. i love them. the red dually doesn't sound like a strat, but really good for high gain sounds and the blue and gold one sound really stratty and i love them. thats exactly how i wanted it. there'S nothing better then a brutal strat, that has the typical strat sounds in neck and middle position.
  22. that flying v is build by coxx...i got it on ebay for $100...its 2 piece korina with maple neck...the head sucks...but its open book, i wish i had that on my epi les paul :-) ...when i got some time i will change it to gibson dimensions...it sounds really good though and its not cheap at all...it might have been build in an epiphone factory, because on the back of the head the same guy signed, as on my les paul custom, which is in the picture also... V_2
  23. finished my strat today.... only have to do the jack tomorrow....messed the paint up a little....it not to bad though....the specs are: - 3 piece alder - fender american standard hard tail bridge - lace sensor dually red humbucker (bridge), blue (neck), gold (middle) - one piece maple neck another one progress
  24. since i don't like the ibanez way at all, i would do it, like toddler68 did. here's the pic.
  25. here's the strat body i was talking about: Back everything worked out good, except the holes for the string through. but was easy to fix.
