  1. Hello. I found a paint shop pro image of the Dean ML guitar. It was found from a finnish music forums instrument building section. Here is the actual psp image. It has two layers. First layers has i photo of the image and second layer contains the contours of the guitar body. Hope this helps. - ARi
  2. WOW! That guitar looks mean! It Somehow reminds me of the artwork of mr. HR. Giger. Not that I know much of arts but I like your piece of work! Really nice!
  3. Not a bad idea, but I would rather see a wiki or similar centralized place for storing information. See this thread In fact it would not hurt to see the whole project guitar site turned into somekind of interactive portal. I don't want to see any flashy advertisments, but what i really would like to see is search engine for the whole site, not only the PG forum. - Ari
  4. Snakenet used to be very interesting. Haven't been there for a while.. Maybe i'd try it again. It's a metal radio. There's never enough metal playing in the radios so this would be my choice. http://www.snakenet.com/default.asp
  5. Great! I hope I didn't sound too aggressive in my preivous post, I was just a bit worried. Too much good info would get lost if something happened. - ARi
  6. Wasn't the security hole in the PHP scripting engine?? Inthe same engine that this forum uses? So Yes it is very essential to update the software before this forum gets hacked.. Did I understand right that this forum is not regularly (nightly) backuped? If not I think it should be. Since this forum contains every day very good material to help people to work on with their hobby, guitar building and playing. It would really suck if the hard drive broke or someone could hack into database and delete every message, if there was no recent backups somewhere. Lots of good / valuable discussions about differents points of building a guitar would be lost! Thank you all of this great forum, that has helped and motived me ( and many others ) building first guitar. And start a new very addictive hobby! Merry Christmas to all of you - ARi
  7. I found it.. I just needed to pick up the wood and draw the shape straigt to the headstock piece! tryig to draw it on the paper was a waste of time... Here's a picture of the cut headstock: Picture of the SG and LP in progress here In the image you can see well the mistakes i made when carving the thrusrod cavity, although it seems worse in the picture than it is in the real life... Please tell me what do you think.. - Ari
  8. You could name the guitar 1966 - 2004 or those numbers would be cool in the inlays.. Here's a pic of the project in its current state. This is my second guitar, first one a LP style guitar is not finished yet, but is been made a bit further that the SG. The LP project has been goining pretty smoothly withot any bigger problems, but with the SG i have made tons of mistakes, which I have been able to fix. As you can see in this picture, the scetches I made of the stock are really crappy.. You can view my projects from my image gallery here Now most pics are of the LP project but as soon as i get both projeccts further i will be posting images there..
  9. Thanx Matt! First I have to say that I have been looking at your pieces of work and I need to say, that they are GREAT! It is not very often when one can see so unique and so characteristic custom guitars. When you see one, you know who has made the guitar. Keep up the nice work and keep us up to date with your work How about a Dimebag tribute guitar next? And now about the headstock: I actually was checking out the headstock of yours earlier and, but somehow it was not what I am looking for. I was thinkig of more round shapes and the horn shapes of SG body, those I would like to see on the headstock. - ARi
  10. Hello I am bulding a Gibson sg style neck thru guitar. I would really like to customize the headstock, but somehow I can not get the shape out of my head to paper. I was thinking something like on Kerry Kings B.C Rich Wartribe http://www.bcrich.com/wartribe.asp, although i would not like to have so "evil" look in the headstock. I was thinking that the shapes from the body of SG should repeat somehow in the headstock. Is there any graphic gurus out there who could help me get out this shape, or do you have any other wild and good ideas? Suggestions? Thanks in advance! - ARi
