The tonepros aren't pickups. It is a locking bridge and tailpiece. This way when you change strings they don't fall off. They supposedly also make it a better sounding guitar.

Yeah, I heard they really make the guitar sound better and increase sustain. Like I said it's a Korean made Hamer, but sounds really good. It's got a mahogany body and I think a silky oak top. I can't find any info on the guitar on the Hamer website, but I think that's the materials. Anyway, I think the upgrades will make it one hell of a guitar.

Well, I was going to start with the EMGs but I just found a tonepros set on ebay for import models and grabbed it. It was $45 so I figured what the hell, I may as well get it now. Just thought I would share that with you guys

Thanks for the great info. It is a six string so it should be easy. I think I'm going to get the ZW set that comes with an 81 and an 85. I'm glad you told me about the battery life, because that was one of the things I was wondering about. Thanks again

Simply Amazing... It's nice to see someone who truly appreciates the good old USA. I think a lot of people that do live here end up unfortunately taking it for granted, I know I sometimes do. Anyway, I think that guitar is just awesome. -
Good to know... It's just a cheap Korean made import, but it sounds great. I just figured for the time being I could upgrade some of the components on it. I may even put a tone pros bridge and tailpiece on it along with a better nut and locking tuners but for now I figured I would start with the pickups.

Is it difficult to go from passive pickups to EMGs. I am thinking putting some into my Hamer Stellar. I figure I can at least update that guitar instead of buying a brand new one. Just wanted to see if I could get some input from you guys on that... Thanks

If you wanted something black for the frets could you use a hard plastic material. I'm not sure if you could find any durable enough, but it could be painted black. Then again I don't really kow what I'm talking about so who knows...

I'm just kind of clueless when it comes to Ibanez guitars. I just know that my first electric was a cheap EX series that was a great first guitar. I kind of wish I still had it just to shred on and not worry about beating it up. I have someone who might buy my strat for about $750 so I was looking for something between $300 - $450 to replace it and leave me with at least $300 extra smackers. I might just buy some wood and a neck and start my first project since I keep telling myself I will. Anyway, thanks for the info... I appreciate it

Hey, I need some input from all you Ibanez junkies. I'm thinking of selling my Floyd Rose Strat, but would want to get a cheaper guitar to replace it, but that would still be a good guitar. I know there are some real nice Ibanez guitars but was wondering if this was one of them. I might be able to get one for about $325. Just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks in advance...

WOW.. I never thought one of my posts could produce such hatred... Just kidding guys... I can totally undertand where you are coming from. I first got into Metallica with the Black Album and thought it was the best thing I had heard up to that point. But after listening to Puppets and Lightning and their other early stuff i realized how good they really were. I didn't like anything after the black album but do like this new one. Oh well, I guess we all have different tastes...

Just wondering what you guys thought of the new disc. I just got it last week and am really diggin' it. The dvd that comes with it is a cool feature, because you can try and see how they are playing the riffs. I just wish they had some solos in it. But overall I think it kicks ass.

Had to go with finishing because I think that can make or break your guitar. Plus I don't know crap about it.

It looks sweet, but would probably be hard to get used to. If I suck on a regular guitar, I could imagine how bad I would sound on that.

Hey guys, Guitar Center has a deal on D'ADDARIO EXL strings and I was wondering if anyone has used these. They have 10 sets for 29.95 which is a great deal but I wanted to make sure they were good strings before I got them. Thanks in advance for any input... I greatly appreciate it. PS... Just get the PRS and tell her it's an investment for your future. It will go up in value as the years go by. Ask her if a ring will do that... Well maybe, but who cares, just get the guitar.
