    I've been lurking about...reading the posts, and working up my courage to build one of my own.....I would definitely use the EMG-707. I have replaced the pickups on all of my 7 strings (Schecter Omen-007, Jackson , and 3 ESP MF 207's). I also am a death guy, so the tight low end is important to me too.
