  1. Probably because he doesn't have a bunch of money to dish out for a brand new 2500 dollar PRS.
  2. I personally think it would look kind of odd on a nice Les Paul or something, it would just bring too much attention to itself. Now if it were on some guitar just to fool around with it's not a big deal. Just my honest opinion.
  3. I have an Ibanex GAX70, I'm planning on doing something to it after I finish my first project, currently in the planning stages.
  4. Alright, both my guitars have the bridge saddles set up perfectly so that the intonation is right at the 12th fret, but they sound like utter crap when playing frets 17-24 and 1-6 (not exact, but around there). Does anyone know any possible problems that could lead the intonation to be off at certain frets. I'm thinking that my frets may need to be leveled off or something along those lines. But I'm not entirely sure. Anyone with any ideas is welcome. Steve
  5. Thanks alot donbenjy!! That's exactly what I was looking for to tell the difference.
  6. I understand a bit better, I'm still learning a lot about electronics and the such, but, is there anywhere I can go to and listen to pickups wired in/out of phase to actually hear the difference?
  7. So basically out-of-phase pups are better for leads on the treble strings persay?
  8. So is there sounds that out-of-phase pickups are good for that in-phase pickups might not sound as well for?
  9. Can someone please explain to me what the differences are with in and out of phase pickups will be? Thanks Steve
  10. "silvertonessuckbutigotone", if you have no knobs for volume. Then do you plan on having some kind of mute switch or something built in? Having no volume knob sounds very inpractical.
  11. Did you think about laying a veneer piece over the entire headstock? Or is there a logo on something there that you want to keep?
  12. Take the guitar and look down the guitar from the top of the headstock and see if you can see a bend or anything in the neck. If there is, send it back. You may need to add shims to the neck pocket as well, or possibly the truss rod is screwed up. The neck could've even warped due to possible hummidity, or temperature changes from places it was when it was being shipped. Many things could've happened. Try what I said, and post what you find.
  13. I've found that www.soulmateguitars.com seem to make pretty good necks.
  14. If you leave your guitar plugged in, it can drain the battery. As for the jack, I have no idea, maybe it's cutting out because the battery is always dead?
  15. I know little about this type of thing, but as it was said, like charges repel(opposites attract) so unless your gonna be taping or somehow forcing the magnet onto the back of the single-coil, than it's not gonna work.
  16. I am thinking about building a chambered body for my first project and was wondering what kind of sound I would get from it and what would be the advantages and disadvantages. I'm planning on having a LP style guitar with a Mahogany back and a Flamed Maple Top with a set-neck. Anyone who can help please do so.
