thing is you could prolly build a squier/(cheap)epiphone type guitar pretty cheap (like a 100$)... but it would suck as much as these do...

yknow plywood stuff with cheap pickups...

do one need a planer to do that? or just something like a belt sander or sanding blocks would work??

around 800$ canadian for everything... thoug its premium stuff... piezo TOM, great pickups, locking tuners... a guitar worth like 2000$ don't have these things....

still, it's 800$ IF i don't screw up anything...

man this really costs too much lol... but still, the guitar i was planning to buy was like 1250$ (parker nitefly) and had these features (actually a little less) so i'm "saving" money

you should let him experiment different instruments (bass, guitar, keys, drums.....) and choose.

actually swineshead are 39 GB pounds... exchange rates for these are about 2.2 CDN

so 90$ CDN each, while seymours are 104$ each for normal models at my local shop...

I think i'll go with Swineshead... they are a LITTLE less than SDs, but they seem to be lots better.

Contacted them, it seems you can get them customised for *NO* extra charges!! I asked for a smoother Condor and the guy said like no problem.

I agree with the Barts.  Contact Ron @ stars pickups and he'll set you up.  Wonderful sound.

i would LOVE to get bartolinis (from the harmony-central reviews i read) but 200$ US + 20$ shipping is a very steep price...

my friend told me that you need special knobs for push-pull Pots... Some knobs with a screw on the side

He says that way the knobs won't come out...

Is this true??

what alternatives would there be, in a 2 humbuckers setup, to Seymour Duncans?

i want to build something very versatile (from jazz to metal).

I checked seymours and a jazz/custom setup looks very nice, but costy.

so what kind of alternatives are there to seymours? i REALLY don't want anything cheap sounding thoug. If i need to, i'll pay for the SD pickups.

Put a single-coil or a humbucker in the neck and i'm sold.

really, this could open up lots of cool sounds... but as Godin said, you still need a neck PU if you ask me.

i'll get 3A eastern flamed maple wings... 2" thick

the finish will be either trans red or trans black, both with a black burst

i'm having the same problem here... except its for a guitar with a TOM.

i really think i'll have to recess it simply because i'm getting a Carvin neck, wich is 1.7" thick... if i'd angle it it would be like... 1.3" thick...

so any other solutions than recessing?
