  1. i own several dif types of guitars. first off i hate strats because of the humming. i have an lp its a liitle to heavy for my taste. i also have an ibanez sa 420x its great the body is light made of mahogany. the sa neck also rocks very slim and smooth. pickups plays a big part though the ibanez ones are ok but the lp custom modded with prs mccarty pickups sounds better. id go with a light body( i like mahogany, im dying to try koa) and a slim neck myself. angled headstock is a plus too. go to the guitar store and play around, plus its fun.
  2. i think so , im not onna glue the fretts. Also im gonna dig out my archtop building book to consult. i aasume fretting is the same for an electric as an acoustic. Adam
  3. so no glue, cool. in reponse to the soup nazi above "george is not happy" what made u think of that? adam

  10. thanks i like the ce22 template alot. is that similar to the mccarty besides the neck and the type of bridge. those are the differences i noticed. thanks
  11. i was planning on using a 24.75" scale neck, i have it laying around. i just like the shape of the prs would it be ok to use the les paul placement then? Adam
  12. You seem to want it pretty accurate, so, NO, different scales. Learn some basics before you try something you obviouly have no idea how to do. Edit: I'm in a slightly better mood than before, so get a 6er of beer(dont know how old you are so may require parents) go to a shop with a mccarty, and trade it for being allowed to take measurements from the guitar. ← i dont know what your problem is. why wouldnt i make it as accurate as possible please dont respond anymore to my post your extremely hostile for no reason
  13. my real concern is how far the pickips should be from each other and where to place the bridge? my idea was to gut an epiphone lp special and trace the placement of everything including the neck pocket and then cut a template? could i then just position it on body i have that shaped like a prs mccarty even though its from an lp? thanks, Adam
  14. thanks for the inspirational comment. i was reffering to bridge, pickup and neck placement. but sure your sarcastice remark was a big help

  21. hi the neck pocket on my guitsr is really rough and uneven. i was thinking of repairing it by cutting a piece out of a new piece of wood then glueing it to the body which woul be cut so that it matched the piece. see the following illustrationneck fix then id use a neck plate to further secure the joined pieces of wood. the parts colored red are the new piece of wood id cut. the non colored parts are the original body. thanks, Adam
