  1. hi i need help identifying what model this body came from. ive searched the models on the ibanez website but have found no match. Anyone know what model its from?
  2. im selling an sg project, the body and neck were carved out of a single piece of mahogany. sg body link the body needs to be routed as wellas the neck, have a fingerboard puton, a finish applied, and the hardware and electronics. Adam
  3. there a guy on ebay selling fhole templates. search for templates. Adam
  4. well heres the thing i have several guitars. one is an ibanez in an ibanez case it gives a minor reaction which usually goes away quickly once its out of the case which makes me believe its the lemon oil i spilt in it. on the other hand i have another ibanez which kind gives me a rweaction, not in a case. finally i have another guitar in a guitar center brand cae which is new, it smells really bad of chemicalls and its with this i have the worst reaction. adam
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but have actually started a project yet? Maybe it's time to cool it on that "new topic" button, bud. ← yes im working on several right now including the prs and,the semi hollow body. im planning a new project the complete hollowbody. you all to critical. all i wanted to know is if i should flatten the top out a little on the desigjn above.
  6. i get itchy, headache and heartburn that could be coming from the case though which has a chemically odor. that or its in my head. ← If that's a relatively new case it could be the glue or wood gassing off. Take a look at this. ← i think its the damn lemon oil i spilt in it like a year ago. femeldayhde , a guitar finish contains that huh?
  7. sorry about that i forget things easily. did anyone bother looking at the drawing? Also this has nothing to do with the prs guitar im building. this is an entirely new project.
  8. hi this drawing is the general arc the body will takebody design. Anyone think i should flatten the top and back some? Adam
  9. i want a body with an overal depth 2 3/8" how thick of a piece of wood should i use for the back and top plates, both will be carved on the inside and outside? also how tall should the side wood be? this is an archtop guitar im trying to plan and build. adam
  10. youve all convinced me im gonna go with traditional archtop building with side bending. padauk sides are fairly cheap.as far as wood goes padauk and maple is what im using. ite exactly what the guitar im trying to build is made out of( trey anastasio ofphish guitar). its the guitar labelled 2. Adam
  11. thanks, i have the book by him. the reason im leaning away from a traditional archtop is ive heard side bending is rather difficult. when u made yours did u use bracing or anytinf or the process i described above. Adam
  12. i was thinking building a hollow body out of padauk and maple. rather then using bracing and kerfed lining im thinking of doing the following. i believe this is how a prs hollowbody is done. heres my plan: the body will be made of 2 pieces, a 2" thick piece of padauk and 1" thick piece of maple. the padauk will serv as the back and sides and the maple will be the top. dealing with the padauk first i will carve the bottom of it then hollow out the inside forming a proper curve, the same will be done with the maple. my first questions is: how thick should the wood be for the sides, i was thinking 1/4 of an inches? my second question is how thick should i leave the wood on the caved top and back? i think this idea would work. Also if anyone has the wood thickness measurements of a prs hollowbody that would be great.

  18. good luck. thats kinda how i got started i tore a cheap fender strat apart about 4 years ago, i learneed alot. i think the hardest part will be the finish. im about to start building a hollowbody im thinking of outsourcing the finish. Adam
  19. i get itchy, headache and heartburn that could be coming from the case though which has a chemically odor. that or its in my head.
  20. is it possible to have a reaction to a professionally made guitar(ibanez) which is made from mahogany and maple?
  21. in regards to mahogany which is a sensatizer. will i still have a reaction to it once its finished with shellac? does the finishing process negate the reactive effect of the wood? adam
