  1. hi i have a guitar neck that was finished by warmoth unfortunately the headstock colloor is a hideous orange. is it safe to paint over it( will it damage the orginal finish or interact with it at all and become harfmful?) i was thinking of using a permanent black sharpy marker would this be ok

    thanks,

    Adam

  2. hi thanks all. the guitar is actually mostly wired i just have to connect the ground wire and out wires both of which we cut so im actuall just putting the wires back together. So the tone/ sound wont suffer using the caps for those wires?

    thanks,

    Adam

  3. I recently had eye surgery so im trying to avoid soldering,i was was woldering if i could just twist the wires together and use the caps electricians use, since all im doing really is cconnecting 2 wires together which were cut, Would this hurt the tone at all?

here is a picture of the caps im talking about.

    thanks,

    Adam

    thanks,

  5. hi want to wire 2 humbuckers to a 3 way blade switch with just a volume pot. i found the diagram pictured below, inorder to do what i wanaa do would i just eliminate the tone pot in the diagram? basically do i just wire the pickups to the switch like in the diagram and then just use a standard volume pot wiring?

    thanks,

    Adam

  7. hi im selling the following neck: im accepting any resonable over over $200

    pictures of the neck

Warmoth Custom “Pro 13 Degree” mahogany neck

    Double expanding truss rod

AMAZING figured Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard (I talked the Warmoth folks into pulling out a piece from their special secret stock--no lie!--for an extra $65).

25 1/2” scale, 22 frets, 1-11/16” nut width, fatter “Boatneck” back contour for enhanced comfort and playability

Nickel/Silver medium-jumbo fretwire (fret slots are cut, but fretwire is not installed)

Beautiful Quilt Maple Headstock Overlay...finish it like the body or just put a clear coat on it--it complements the body nicely!

the neck is unfinished, and no position markers drilled (curly maple dot markers included if you want to add them).

The headstock and back of the neck will need some sort of a finish (see Guitar ReRanch for easy D-I-Y finishing!)

Needs a nut (only part missing, but not it's not too difficult or expensive to have a luthier cut and install one for you!)

(note: Warmoth ships custom necks with a slight bow since there is no string tension...the neck will be straight as an arrow once you adjust the truss rod, put strings on, and set the guitar up. Also, the neck pocket is angled, so the neck attaches with 2 pairs of different length screws...make sure you use the proper screws or you'll drill through the fingerboard!).

please contact me if you have any questions or are interested in the neck

  9. hi have fender neck that was finished in polyurethane. the finish was a little rough on the back of the neck so i used a really high grit sandpaper to smooth it out. i did not san through to the wood. i was just wondering is the polyurethane safe to touch as a result of sanding it? i know the dust is bad for ya so I was just wondering iff the neck is ok health wise.

    thanks, adam

  10. Well I want a new guitar, and I dont know what to get. I really want an explorer shaped guitar, the top contender right now is a Kramer Imperial, although I'm not to fond of the fact that its a bolt on, and I'd rather have a mahogony bodied guitar, but I like the way it looks, the price is great, and from what I've read its actually a really kick ass guitar. But does anyone know of any other explorer styled guitars? If I could I'd just get a gibson, but I cant afford one, so I'm looking for alternatives, pretty much as long as its a nice solid guitar, because I can always change out tuners pups and bridges. I've found that epiphone explorers are a bit to rounded at the edges and esp exs are a bit much, they're cool, but somthing about them always looked... off center maybe? So any help will be apreicated, an explorer styled guitar for a god price is pretty much what I'm looking for, even a rhoads style guitar too, as long as it doesnt have a floyd or any trem for that matter.

whats so bad about a bolt on neck ? i actually preffer them. ive owned a few epiphones there made pretty well. also why dont u give ibanez or carvin a shot. i guess if u wanna build one look on ebay or try usacg.com or warmoth but they may be out of your price range.
