i've got three on my right upper arm a picture of marvin the martian standing on mars, with tassie devil jumping out of a crater behind him. on my left upper arm a tribute to my deceased daughter brianna, just a simple love heart with her name and date of death. on my right ankle a tribal sun. i plan to get at least four more, something on my left ankle, don't know what yet, an arm band on my left arm in the style of the kids game "barrel of monkeys" where the monkeys will have there arms interlocked, and different expressions on their faces, ie: happy sad angry etc. i also want a HUGE one on my back and one on my chest.
  2. definately metal slayer, pantera, old metallica (pre black album) i also love the old seventies bands, led zep, deep purple, sabbath, ramones, jethro tull, but i predominantly listen to metal.
  3. g'day just wondering if anyone knows if redgum is any good for necks, or if it has tonal qualities for a body?? maybe some of the aussie guys may have used this timber before?? (ps i did a search several times on "redgum", and kept coming up with errors)
  4. tuners would be similar to a speedloader/steinberger setup, probablly home made, my mate is a wizard at machining, so i'll be knocking on his door to get him to come up with a solution.
  5. i assume the ferrules would do that, i dunno really, i'm just tossing the idea around at the moment. just wanted to be different, and those tuners are hideous (just my opinion)
  6. sort of like that, but with the strings set out in a conventional way as if there were tuning pegs there.
  7. had a thought and was wondering if anyone had any comments. would it be possible to build a "headless" style neck, only put a headstock on it and use a string thru type method up that end. that way it wouldn't have the look of a true headless neck, but would look very unique. as you can see i am a noob, so i may be kidding myself that something like this could work. any comments would be appreciated.
  8. hi all new to the site, hope to be building a guitar really soon. just thought i'd introduce myself quickly. i live in adelaide in south australia. i have played guitar for a number of years, but am no good at it! i just enjoy making noise. would love to build a les paul style guitar, with a few mods. hopefully i won't annoy too many people with my dumb questions that i'm sure i will be asking over the next few months (years).
