  1. last week I was looking for a good od peddle. I wanted the SD1 to mod it to a zakk wylde like od. I've tried several things: SD1, BD2, OD2, OD3, DS1, Uber Metal, Double Muff, Ts9, Jack meistersinger... and the marshall Bluesbreacker because the little thing was in the shop. I went out the guitar shop with the gray heavy metal little marshall thing. I've been given the Boss OS2... I use it to distort the natural sound of my classic 50, because I can't sitch from OD to distort with my foot on the BB2. To sum it up: The BB2 is exactly what I wanted. And better. (the OD3 has a real great tone too as it preserves the natural sound of yer gettar)
  2. Hi! I intend to add nickel covers to the current JB and Jazz SD that make my Ravelle Fernandes Grooowl. I've tried to find out what was the exact pole spacing from both pickups, and found out they were approx. 49mm. I've been finally advised to buy genuine Seymour covers for a perfect match. But the problem is ... I LIVE IN FRANCE. (and I did not found any US seller who ship to france, nor french seller who sells Seymour covers) So as I looked on the link given here by noplugsjustinfo, I've read that the seymour JB and jazz had 'traditional' pole spacing. What means traditional? is it 1-15/16" (as the gibson neck PAF ?) As I've been told that Gibson pole spacing on bridge PAF is 2".. Btw, my master luthier here told me he got "49,2mm" pole spaced covers. Will it definitely fit or not? Thanks for your help!
  3. Thanx again for the warnings!!! I was nearly doing it!!!! I'm gonna wait!
  4. Well. is it so long to do it? Browsing this forum I've found a nice link about 'aging' a Telecaster. I guess it works for a lespaul too!! The link here: http://www.rhsdesign.com/fender51/assembly1.htm The guy talks about aging the chrome hardware parts with Ferrous Chloride, but he doesn't really go into details....hope someone could help ! Thanx!
  5. Thanks for the "WARNING", Dave....(maybe I don't really know what I get involved in... ) The aged style I try to simulate should give a "matt-look" to the hardware, something the chrome couldn't give even 20 years after of HARD HEAVY rock on it. (I send you pics). By the way thanx for your help!!!! Cosmitron
  6. Hi! I'm a complete newbie here, so maybe there's already a topic 'bout my request. Anyway, I just got my 80's Lespaul. The guitar is all in a vintage look but still the hardware looks brand new as it's in chrome-plated. Does anyone know how to make it look 'vintage'? I'm about to 'work' it with extra thin glass wool and polish. But I may need experience from you people! (no regret about the hardware it's a LAWSUIT one.... ) Thanx to anyone who could help!!!!
