  1. Has anyone ever converted a standard nut type neck to a locking nut neck? Seems like you could take a neck, sand it down so it's bare wood up on the headstock and glue on a little scab of wood so there would be a full lip for the locking nut to rest on. And yes, i know you'd have to ensure that the conversion does not modify the overall scale length.
  2. If I'm picturing this correctly, wouldn't that mean then you'd have to move the bridge to accommodate the fact that the nut is moving further away from the body?
  3. So, if 25.5 means that's the measurement from bridge to nut. Then how does that play with 22 vs 24 fret? Does it just mean that a 24 fret neck would extend a little further into the body of the guitar?
  4. 3 different guitars? What styles are they? Sounds very cool.
  5. I thumbed through that book a little. Seemed ok, but what got me with this other book is a couple things, nice clear color pics and the fact that it came with a template already. is there something that makes the book you guys mentioned better than the one I mentioned? And yes, did see you're PM Viking.. I'll let you know. Thanks again! Rick
  6. Hi all.. .New here and wanting to make my own guitar. Was at a book store at lunch, was looking through this book http://www.amazon.com/Build-Your-Own-Elect...By=addThreeStar Was wondering if anyone has this book and has built the guitar from the template? Here is my situation though. I'm interested in building the body, but not the neck, Are the plans in this book standard sizes such that i should be able to buy a neck to put with this body? Thanks for the help! Rick
