  4. lol any more serious answer???? None will sound exactly like a fender strat, but if its got a trem most wont notice the tonal difference. could you explain why? thank all of you for your interest but i have a great curiosity about this cedar of lebanon i own which is over 300 yeas old.... that would probably add some credits....besides its very light.... My alternative is sycamore as you mention cause is also very light... i forgot the basswood i have but i dont really belie it can do my work..... this elm i have an idea of black grain filling it and look like new PRS model...but its.....far from strats....
  5. I am planning a project for my own sound style which is closer to fender stratocaster sound....but....i dont like the shape...so much... i am thinking what woods for body, neck, fingerboard to choose to be closer...Besides what kind of pick ups???SSS/HH??? WOODS available... padauk/sapelle/sycamore/elm/cedar of lebanon/zebra/wenge/rosewood/bubinga/cocobolo/cherry/maple/mulberry walnut/purpleheart/ i know alder is the key but another substitttion with personal sound??? what about pick ups???only sss is the key??? could you advise me what to do and keep in mind to achieve this sound character?
  6. i have some pieces of cedar of lebanon aged over 300 years.....taken from ruined old houses... i have also elm..... would they work for guitar bodies????? in my country we use cedar of lebanon for soundboard of cretan lyra....its very rare wood and worthy!!!

  10. well i need the shape and the dimensions (max width, max length)... of a forest style guitar (as i refer in the title) i also would appreciate the carving...... easy stuff....
  11. forgive me for my stupid question, but i must solve it. The inlay is one piece or many?and if there are many how much they are?
  12. it would help me a lot to give typical min prices for poly and water based finish...Stew mac refers 30 and 40 psi... but in my project i spray with HVLP water based Bronze type B and it needs 70-90 psi.....I think its crazy .... What's your opinion?
  13. i try to spray acrylic bronze with a 1.4 nozzle but there is always an "orange peel" which i cannot get rid off. My question is what is the combination of a)air pressure b)viscocity of liquid/thinner percent c)nozzle d)liquid fluid e) distance from theme in order to achieve a perfect paint/finish.. most of them i am concerning about how an acrylic liquid viscocity is connected with nozzle....i mean if my nozzle is 1.4 and see orange peel, should i try with 1.8 or 1.0???
  14. was it mechanically done (i mean sanding) or a person with sanding machine sanded one by one every guitar?
  15. my major question is how they do it in guitar factories....I mean do they wet sand or go to buffer after spraying with special compounds?
  16. my question is how do you fine tune the chambers..............
  17. there is a thick line which declares the border of the high gloss finish..If there is a satin finish in the neighborhood how could i eliminate this obvious line to make the transition more normal??
  18. indian rosewood /maple top combined with wenge neck and cocobolo fretboard would be very bright???
  19. i have heard that cherry has about the same tonal qualities with alder,as substitute.is it correct? i also forgot...i have some indian rosewood blanks.....for body....what about that?
