  1. okey should i use two EMG 80? (i'm more of a lead guitarist than a rhytm player) maybe one 80 and one 85 or sum? what's the best combination for a lead guitarist? btw im probably gonna put some cool decal of the devil or sum on the headstock, just something evil and cool looking
  2. hehe yeah, thats what i plan on doing practice the art of burst spraypainting But hey did you just use black spray paint from from a hardware store or sum? or did you buy automotive paint or sumthing like that?
  3. hehe that is the tutorial i'm gonna use for my guitar when i paint a burst on it just wanted to know if you knew a better way did you do it exacly like the tutorial? coz i want my burst to go a little more near the center of the guitar, if you know what i mean i don't want a thin burst just by the edges, want it be little more burst i guess i'm thinking of taking the paper guitar template thingy and cut like 2 cm (about 4/5") of the sides of the paper thing to make the burst bigger
  4. im thinking of making it black, ebony fingerboard, maple neck (painted black) don't know if i wan't tremolo bridge or Tune-o-matic bridge, emg-hz pickups i think, black headstock, black tuners and black knobs (thinking of having everything black on the guitar and scale length? hmm i guess 25.5" or sum, 6 strings and i'm gonna try to have cool inlays (not dot inlays... )
  5. i think im gonna go with this one, but im gonna change the headstock for sure this guitar is gonna be all mine but not the body mine and the headstock some other guys gonna have the headstock more like the body, scalloped and evil and yeah, thx for all the awesome comments and ideas keep bringin em on if you have any
  6. nope, don't know who the guy is, i've read somewhere about the bastard v though (btw i didn't draw the headstock, some guy that replied with a drawing with that headstock so i just used that headstock in my computer drawn designs... btw that Bastard V looks a little like my V although i have never seen a pic or anything of bastard v before
  7. Nope don't even know who that is :D
  8. that skull thingy is freakin awesome only thing about that is let's say i use a tremolo bridge, then the eyes and nose will barely be noticable, but you can always try the tune-o-matic bridge with tailstop... =) i also like the Flying V alot, it looks kind of goofy but with slight changes it could be made really bad ass! Those are some updates from your ideas (and some pics u customised ) EDIT: new version of the flying V: what do you think is the best so far (of all the pics, also the great ideas from the crowd
  9. yep thx for the comments, if you have some more please write em and press enter and yeah i think it would look better more symmetrical. im also gonna try to make the "butt" look more (whats the word... ) like the top, if you know what i mean (maybe something more like those guitars Metal Matt posted
  10. This is my new guitar design, i'm going for this kinda evil look What do you people think, please give some comments or thoughts of how this guitar could be improved
  11. maybe even Quilted Maple top, dno, Quilted Maple Top or Bubinga Top, you think it will work?
  12. Hi I'm thinking about when i make my guitar (gonna start making it this summer i hope, explorer shaped from Mahogany wood, maple neck with rosewood or ebony fingerboard and im thinking if I could buy a Bubinga veneer and cut it out exacly the same size as the explorer, paint the Mahogany black and the but grainfiller (btw i've read alot about this stuff but im from iceland and i don't really really get what this grainfiller is, i have some thoughts but im not sure, is it some stuff you but in to the pores of the wood?) in the pores and put black epoxy from stewmac.com and the use like green translucent dupli color spray or something like that on the bubinga like this but only green on mine and bubinga veneer --> http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...pic=9113&st=255 coz i really really liked this finish... Do you think that could work, any tips are greatly appreciated
  13. do you have drawings of explorer type?
  14. hello I was hoping that one of you genius's would be able to tell me where i can find a lifesize blueprint of and Explorer guitar. I have tried guitarbuild.com but that just comes of WAY too big and i don't understand how i could possiblyprint out that stuff and draw an explorer on to a piece of wood in the right size... any answers are appreciated (also if you can teach me how this stuff works on guitarbuild.com )
