  1. I just converted a Mustang bridge by adding a second notch to each saddle and putting a spacer in the between the two center saddles to even out the string spread. You could also use a Jazzmaster bridge taking advantage the threads on the saddle, but anything below a .010 will buzz in the notches and some strings might sit in the grub screw holes. All current Fender style 12 string bridges entail string-through for some of the strings and will not work with a Jaguar/JM style bridge and trem setup. So if you're starting from scratch, the modern Gotoh/Fender 12 string hardtail seems the logical choice. I just posted a message asking if anyone knows of Fender spaced tune-o-matic type bridge to replace the funky Mustang setup I described. The Schaller 12 sring tune-o-matic looks interesting, but it's also spaced like regular Gibsons, and so is probably too narrow for my vintage Fender neck. The search continues...
  2. Does anyone know if a Fender spaced Tune-O-Matic exists? All the Tune-O-Matics I've located with suppliers like StewMac and Warmouth are Gibson spaced (2-2 1/16") and I am wondering if either Gretch or Fender has ever made an Adjust-O-Matic type deal for 25.5 " Fender scales and string spacing. The spacing on a Jazzmaster/Mustang bridge is about right at 2 1/4", but is that my only option? Believe it or not, I am installing it on a custom-made 12 string with an solid mahogany body and a mid 60s Fender Villager neck. (Looks great by the way!) It's had a Gibson hardware setup for the longest time, but I'd like to correct the string spacing so it plays more like a Fender. It's using a re-notched Mustang bridge at the moment, but I'm still not happy. Has anyone used the Schaller 12 string tune-o-matic? Or know of anyway to mod a stock tune-o-matic type deal? The one thing I'd like to avoid is retrofitting the stud and bridge combo - it is an SG after all.
