  1. Here is a picture of the tool I've in mind.
  2. Me too. I agree with phil (hey phil, how are you ? you're everywhere , aren't you). If there is only one tool you need to make a guitar it's a router. And as phil pointed out, if you plan to make more then one guitar, then you MUST not buy the cheapest router. For the other tools, maybe you know some of your neighboors who own some of the required tools : such as clamps and everything. And I think you don't need a dremel unless you have particular things to do (such as inlays or bindings, but you can do without a dremel). And I think you can forget le fretting kit, you only need a saw (to slot) and a kinh of hammer.
  3. My LP is finished. There are some pictures. When I'll have some time, I'll do samples... by the way, the 2 things ZoSo_Spencer are OK now. There are a lot of little misteakes because it's my First guitar, I hope the next one will be better (SG-like, 24 cases, neck through, sipo (kind of mahogany) for body and 3 ply ash and 2 Sipo for the neck). And as you can see on the picture below, I have bought enough wood to build some other guitars. I am already thinking of a Tele-like project.
  4. HI de free, the world is small... As I told you before, your SG is beautiful but I find the edge of the head a little bit too smooth. For the control cavity plate, I think a pickguard material from stewmac and a "scie sauteuse" (literraly "jumping saw", but I don't think it's the right word) will do it.
  5. Yes, i'll sand a little more the binding near the pickup selector to make it smoother. On the last picture the mounting ring wasn't screwed (not sure of the word), but if you look at the 3rd one it is in the right way. Thanks guys. Ps : because I was short of money at the time I launched this project, I bought Stewmac pickups. For my next project I think I'll use Seymour pickups (It will be an SG).
  6. There are still the pictures. So it is mahogany for the body and neck. Ebony for the fingerboard and a little piece of rosewood for the "peghead".
  7. HI, I think it's my first post on this forum. Sorry for my english, it's ugly. So, here is what I built : that's the finish I'll do other pics here ( /!\ 56k, loads of pics /!\ ) http://www.lutherie-amateur.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=6 If you have any questions...
