  1. Nice guitar dude but I can tell you from personal lefthandedness experience that you are going to be stuck with it unless you let it go for a lot less. Even though you might get that much for the same righthanded guitar you'll never get it for a lefty. There's just not that much of a market for our type of guitars unless they're vintage and even then there's no guarantee. I'm a lefty and out of the three guitars I've sold or traded I've let everyone go for a lot less than it's worth just out of necessity.

  2. Should be great fun when they come about again. They can't sting they just fly around and make a lot of noise and eat things. The last time they came I would catch hundreds of them in the big coffee cans just for fun. You can snag 'em right out of the air because they're not too fast or too bright. They look almost exactly like a locust except they have kind of red eyes and wings on a blackish type body.

  3. I would love to get the spindle sander and any or all the wood if still interested. My email is bingo328@yahoo.com if interested. Just let me know what you want for shipping etc.

Also, there are lots of people including myself that go to school and/or attend work and still manage time for projects. If your having fun it really is a great hobby to stick with.

  4. I've tried the blue voodoo in the past and liked it very much. To me it sounded more like Marshall than Mesa but the gain was a bit more more metal than r-n-r. Beware-the original blue voodoos had clestions in them but then when they became a little more popular they broke the cabs and heads into two seperate groups. The upper ones which kept the celestions and birch cab. Then the budget minded ones with crate speakers and cheaper ply or MDF cabs. The more expensive cabs had the big crate letters in gold centered on the grille. The cheaper one had the crate logo with the rectangle around it similar to the Red Voodoo which is pretty much a different colored blue voodoo. The original heads were 120 watts I belive and then they later made a 60 watt version I think. But like everyone else said try it out and decide for yourself.

  5. Yeah, the extrude command is the best way to get the basic shape going. Looks like a body just bansawed out of a blank. Just a question, why do you want to do 3D drawings of your guitar. As far as templates for building they're almost useless. If you're shape is going to be some kind of carved top it will almost take less time to make a junk one out of plywood or something to see if the shape is right. If your set on doing it in the computer for a carve you basically have to draw out the negative shape of the dome and use the subtract command. You can then use the 3D fillet to smooth it up some. Also make sure to set your "Facetres" command to the highest setting to see the true shape. Otherwise it will look blocky. Do you have any CAD experience to start. If not you should really take time to learn some of the 2D basics before getting into 3D drawing. It's a whole different ball o' wax.

  6. I've ordered from Warmoth a few times and they've always been great. Very helpful and polite. USACG seems pretty decent although I've never tried them. They only use one-way truss rods in their guitars, just something to consider. With the AutoCAD file thing you'll probably need someone with AutoCAD to save it as a .DXF file to use it with another CAD program. .DWG is only AutoCAD, .DXF is "Drawing Exchange Format" When you do that it will probably screw up all the layers too. If you want to send me the file and tell me what you want I could probably get it for you. Let me know.

  7. The real Celestion helps but it doesn't justify 550$. You should really go play one before commiting. If your looking for the classic Marshall sound I don't think you'll be satifsfied with it, but thats just my 2 cents. BTW is this an additional amp or replacing your main amp, or maybe your first amp. Just something to consider, weigh it's sound and price versus what you already have and against what your looking for. Through the years I never got the exact amp I wanted. I would get one that I liked enough and play it for a year or two or until I had money to upgrade to something I liked better. Maybe eventually I'll make it up to that Mesa Road King in Red Snakeskin tolex that I've been drooling over. :D

  8. Yeah, Dave's right about the speakers I guess they did put Celestions in some of those. Definately check though. If theres one on sale close, check it out. Play the crap out of it with a few different guitars and anything and everything you would normally play. In the end it's only your opinion of it that really matters.

  9. I've owned that almost that exact same amp except mine was in head form. I personally don't like any of the "Valvestate" stuff any companies are putting out. Especially these earlier Marshall ones. The new ones like the AVT are getting closer but none of them sound at all like a real valve Marshall. 550$ is pretty high also, I doubt it sould for much more than that new. I bought the head new when it came out for about 600$. They also don't use Celestions, they use "Marshall Heritage" speakers which aren't terrible but are not as great as Marshall talks them up to be. You can easily find pretty decent valve Marshalls in used stores and ebay for less than that. I just got a 50W JCM 900 2x12 combo in really good shape for 450$ Look for the slightly older models for the best deals. The JCM 800's, 900's or even the DSL versions of the 2000's. If you've listened to Marshalls on your favorite recordings it probably came from those amps.

  10. You guys must all have cool dentists. Mine said they don't keep the old ones around and aren't allowed to give up that stuff anyway because of some insurance stuff. Same reason they wouldn't let me keep my wisdom teeth that were taken out. I thought I should get to keep them since they were from my wisdom. If any of you made a good score at the dentist and would like to part with some for a fair price I would be intersted. Pretty Pretty please?
