  1. Hi, question: If I dont want (to save some money) to buy a surfaced and jointed (stewmac, warmoth, etc) body blank. How dificult is if I buy a piece of great wood to do that ? What tools would I need to surface and joint it well ? What about the time? Is it take too much time to do that? Thanx, Demian.
  2. I have seen the pictorial that "Guitarfrenzy" (wich was great! ) made for a strat, and I was looking for the same kind of pictorials in other proyects. Basically I was looking for a complete step by step pictorial for an Ibanez RG or Jem model. But if somebody knows about other kind or similar guitar models, welcomed!!! I think that this is a very good way to learn. I would glad if you could put links or begin a new one here, in this forum. Thanx, Demian
  3. I´m New in this, so I dont have even a clue what materias and in what order have to pint a guitar. Whar are the materials that is common to use for painting ? What are the principal materials that must be bought ? I know that maybe ther is several ways to do it, but tell me what the basic to paint a guitar in one color ? Thanx, Demian

  5. AHH OK now Im Understanding something else. So the big problem would be if they are dried well, and I think thats the reason why the wood here are so cheap I think, but how can I know that? I mean iare there some tips or hints to help me to choose a well dried wood, years of dried, etc?? The other one is the "surfaced and jointed" of the blanks, so you say that if I buy this raw wood than I will have to join and surfaced them dont I? Thanx, Demian
  6. I Live in souht america and need to know how to pick or choose a good piece of wood (any kind for this purposes) for body, neck and fretboard.Im talking about board blanks. The problem here is that the all good wood is sold to USA and then I have to buy them the same wood at double price. I have seen that the price of a body blank (for ex.) cost $60 aprox.- Here in Argentina I can get the same body (same type of wood I mean) blank for $25 aprox. So... How can I know if the wood that they are selling me are in conditions for a guitar or bass. Or the wood is terrible bad or here we have lucky (that i dont think so) . The big question is: HOW DO I KNOW IF THE WOOD THAT I´M buying is ok for a guitar ?? Thanx, Demian.

  8. Hi, well I know that this question depend of many things but, how much time or weeks has take to build a guitar aprox (like strato, jem, etc). I´m new in this area so I want to know how many days or weeks takes to build a guitar. Sincerly I want to know how many guitars could a build in a month to sell. Tell me your examples... about how much time took your works. Thanx, Demian.

  11. I have noticed that the melvin´s book is very famous, not only in this forum. So I will buy it. I think to buy 2 books to start so, The other one that I was thinking was the Martin Koch´s book. Ibanez_Crazy said that is a very good book so... If anyone recommend me another book that would be better than those two, I will buy them. Thanx everyone, Demian.
  12. Hi, I´m new , and I´m interested to learning to how to build a guitar from the beginning. I dont have expeience with wood so I was looking for books that really help me how to build an electric guitar from the beginnig explaining all. What books do you recomend me? Is there a book that is consider as the bible of the building guitar genre.? Thnx, Demian.
