  1. I've always been under the impression that all pickups are spaced the same, unless they have that little label of "F-Spaced" on them. Most of the time, the neck and bridge models have different output levels and voicings. At least the Dimarzio series do, if you go and look at the Breed, Blaze, and Evolution sets.
  2. If you could put "tele" pickups in there, it most likely would.
  3. Ibanez V7 and V8... perhaps not as "good" as a Seymour or Dimarzio, but those are the most versatile setup I've ever played, and they're very high quality. Ibanez really should sell those suckers aftermarket.
  4. WD-40 might do something for it... I've never tried though, can't tell that it's 100% safe.

  6. I suppose that makes sense. I just looked up the 707 to check if it had pole pieces, read what the website had, and responded based on that. Anyway...
  7. From the EMG website: "The 707 is a dual coil pickup with Alnico Poles"
  8. I'm not so sure... unlike the bass pickups, the 707's designed with pole pieces, which may not quite line up with the 8 strings.
  9. If you can play it, Green Tinted Sixties Mind would sound awesome. Or some of Elton John's stuff would translate well.
  10. Double stick tape with enough pressure will work wonders, and will go far beyond clamps. More wieght the merrier: your best option is to sit on it, or push down with your hands and put all your weight on top of the template.
  11. it's kind of a variation on tapped harmonics.
  12. In a word: opinion. For me, I like Alice Cooper. Just about every time I hear him, it sounds like he's singing my life story.
  13. As a (very) young child, I clearly remember seeing Mason and Glen Campbell playing Classical Gas on television, just two nylon string acoustics. It was one of the reasons I took up guitar in the first place. The single had orchestral backing. If Clapton has ever recorded it, it's the best-kept secret in rock'n'roll. Surprise, another internet tabster that got something wrong. Interesting... I've heard the orchestral version on the radio, but I've never been able to find it for download...
  14. Umm... that's Mason Williams. actually, clapton made a version that didn't involve instrumental input. it was pure classical guitar. if your into downloading, search for his version and see the differance. if you want a link to a tab of his version, go here. i can only assume that he made a version of his own. That appears to be the same as the Mason Williams one... there's no Clapton version of CG in the allmusic database either. And Williams' original one was exclusively classical guitar.
  15. Let me guess...Creation West? Yeah, I went in 01. Kingdom Bound... out at Darien Lake.

    Rebel Yell

So that was the toy gun making that noise? OK, for some reason I thought that was used on a different song. No wonder I couldn't come close to reproducing it. Thanks! No, I think what he's saying is that it sounds like a toy raygun, but can be imitated on guitar. When I first heard it on Rebel Yell, I thought it was a sample dropped in... anyway.

    Rebel Yell

I'm guess that he probably had a touch of chorus on it as well...
