  1. you could go with ash or maple, but what i would do is get alder and put a maple cap on it, looks good and sounds better!
  2. should be like new man! i had to do that to a johnson strat i had and it worked perfectly till i sold it (not enough frets!)
  3. well any carpenters glue would work, but i would go with titebond(not titebond II)
  4. well its going to be the Rhodes V, but i,m changing it a bit, headstock binding, quilted maple cap and matching top for the body, transparent red or blue finish with the pinstripes being inlayed with abalone instead of painting!!!! what y'all think of that?
  5. definatly use glue!!!!!!!!!!! you dont want that wood going anywhere, fill in the holes, redrill and you should be fine.
  6. i havent touched the neck blank now cause im torn between the two designs!!!!! so im putting it to a vote, the quilt-carved top jem or the rhodes V? im going to build both eventually but what do you guys think i should start on first?
  7. sorry man no digicam, if i had one i would be pimping my stuff dont you think?
  8. bogner uberschall into guitar equiped with dual emg 60's is the simplest route, i like mick i just wish he would do some solos cause we all know that guy can shred!

  11. alright guys heres how i wired it, black and white wires soldered together and to the bottom of the switch, middle soldered to ground, then green and bare soldered together and on ground, then the red wire on the 'hot' of the pot, all five wires on the push/pull pot see? it works fine i just cant use it alone right now.

  13. well i got it done after 5 hours with the iron and almost a burn on my middle finger, but shes wired, only thing is that none of the wires are on the pickup selector, is that normal?
  14. im wiring my dimarzio evolution and i need to know what wires to use to coil tap it with my push/pull pot, also the old pot that was in had to wires connected to the back of it, one going to the tone pot and one going to the input jack, then yet another not connected to these going to ground, can i just solder all of these wires together on the side of the p/pl pot? i need help REALLY BAD!!!!!
  15. i was just looking at carvin as an option, but i probably will make my neck as it is.
  16. i know that there is a tutorial for this on the website and he doesnt use that stew mac sawm, shouldnt be to hard to find.
  17. that would be really awesome if you could do that setch! thank you very much!
  18. also i need a place where i can find red diamond plate and silver tolex, thanks guys!
  19. more questions, with inlaying, should i use a dremel with a flexshaft router? and also, how big are tube power amps? in dimensions not power.
  20. also are carvins prefab necks anygood for neck-through models? i know they make a bolt on and neck thru but are they worth it?
  21. now im thinking of building my first neckthru guitar, it will either be a jem style guitar or a rhodes v (alexi laiho version) now if i build the jem its going to have a chrome vine of life with blue leds in the leafs and side dots and if i build the rhodes its going to be black with red pinstripes and a reaper inlay job, my question is this: where would i get the chrome inlay material for this and how difficult are leds to do? i have mentioned this to another forum and they suggested fibre-optics but stated that it is extreamly difficult to do. now for the second question, im thinking of building my own combo using a pod or something like that (i saw one here and it struck a chord) but the only problem i have with this is that i would like a tube amp, so does anybody know of any high gain tube pre amp and a decent solid state amp to combine in one chassis? im looking at making a 100watt combo with celestions
  22. another thing, is that chrome material dificult to work with?
