  1. im also having a buzzing problem with a fretless bass. i refinished the bass and i have a buzz on the g string about where the 9th fret would be the rest of the way up the the end of the neck. i made my own nut and radius sander to sand the neck a bit to remove the groves left by round wound strings the previous owner used on it and am tryin to set it up now and everything seems good except that problem. also could use some set up tips on a fretless, i cant seem to find anything on it, like truss rod adjustments and aprox string heights. any help would be great. i checked for flat spots with the straightest thing i could find and havnet noticed really anything, but the ruler is prob not ery straight. thanks

  3. hey i got a old bass im refinishing, i stripped off all the old clear coats with stripper (a rather long boring process ) then i sanded off the old stain on the wood. problem is the end grain stain, it is really dark around the pick up cavities and the ends of tyhe guitar. any ideas how to remove the stain with out sanding too much, i dont want to remove too much wood. thanks for any help
  4. hey im workign on refinishing a fretless bass (its nothing special, jsut something i like to do to pass the time) the person that had it before used round wound strings on it and it made very small wear marks on the neck, they are not deep at all jsut became visible. i was wondering if sanded the fretboard down with a radius sander and then installed the new nut a bit shorter to make up for the amount i sanded down would this work? i usually only redo the paint jobs on guitars and stuff and decided to try something new. thanks for any help
