  1. Hey all, I just ordered a TonePros bridge and tailpiece set to replace the current setup on my Les Paul. Because this is my first time, I'm a little nervous with notching the saddles on the bridge. What's the best way to determine where the notch should be and how to do it? Thanks!
  2. I appreciate the help. Looks like I'll go with my hunch and get the TonePros.
  3. Hello all! I need some advice. I'm having to replace the tune-o-matic bridge that came standard on my Gibson Les Paul Studio. I'm thinking of using the Tone-Pros bridge of the same style. It looks like just a simple replacement. What do you guys think? Any better brands that Tone-Pros to use? Because I'm new to this, the easier the installation, the better. Thanks.
  4. I play mostly heavier rock although I'm getting more into blues and jazz. I definitely want tuning stability. I also want a tremolo that goes both ways, I've got an old strat with a one-way tremolo. Also, what do you think of the new floyd rose tremolo that requires special strings?
  5. I'm going to build my first guitar very soon and I'm trying to get all the supplies to do the job. I need to decide which type of tremolo to purchase. I would like to have a guitar with a tremolo similar to an floyd rose, but I've heard there are better tremolos out there. I just don't know which ones. If anyone has any recomendations, I would love to hear them. Also, I have thought about putting in a tonepros bridge similar to the gibson tunomatic bridge because it looks fairly easy. Just how hard is is to put in a tremolo? If it's too dificult, I'll go this route. What do you guys think? Thanks, SpotGtar
  6. Guitar<- Doesn't get mad when you go out with the guys. Guitar<- Will always look the same, unless you decide to change it. Guitar<- Isn't affected by age. Guitar<- Can make you money. Guitar<- Doesn't expext anything after you play with it. Guitar<- Actually enjoys amplifiers lying around the house. I've been going through the very same thing for the past year. Two guitars later things haven't changed. All joking aside though, if you have any doubts, I would go with the guitar. I would have to be very sure if I were to get the ring.
  7. I recommend DR Pure Blues Guitar Strings. I have been playing them for the past two years on my LP and it seems that everytime I pick it up it doesn't need to be tuned, regardless of how hard I've played it.
  8. I would have to go with the Les Paul. They're versatile, easy to play, and sound great.
