  1. This is a four-template-in-one with different configurations according to different tastes. The template on the right is about the measurements from the botton of the neckt to he surface where the neck meets the fingerboard. On the other hand, the template on the right is exactly the same with the only difference that the profile is complete including the thickness of the fingerboard.I point out that the distance between the profile next to the nut and the second profile template are 350 milimeters in the direction of the body.I hope it will be useful. 2. Hi, I'm sorry I had some troubles in order to reply your coments here, I think there was some problems with the web.Fisrt of all thank you very much for your answers.I usually use Stewmac truss rod but I'll try to buy another types.I built and Explorer and used this neck templates and have no troubles with thoses 4.12 mm of meat below the truss rod.Yesterday at night I was re-reading Martin Koch' book and he says that It must be al least 3 mm of wood in that zone. The result is an extremely ergonomic and thin neck that works fine for me. In this template I want to add some different profile combination in one jig. There is a company four km near from my home of laser cut.For the price of 18€ they cut me the pieces I need.I submitted the drawings cause I don't know what is best, if cut the template like the left one (blue, wich covers the size from the botton of the neck to the zone where the neck meets the fingerboard) or the right one (magenta color with covers all the profile, fingerboard included) as you can see in the picture. I would like to point out that I have no problem to share the .dwg file if someone is interested in. Scorpionscar
  3. Hi, I'm designing some measurement tools and now I'm with the shape of the neck templates.I enclose a CAD drawing about it and be grateful if you take me a piece of advise cause I have some doudts with te measuremts expecially in the zone where de truss rod goes because I'm not sure if the wood will resist with those 4.12mm and 5.12mm thickness between the end of the rod and the end of the wood of the neck. Thanks in advance. Scorpionscar P.S If someone wants the plans I have no problem to share them
  4. Hi, ¿does anyone know how to paint a zebra-style guitar like Matthias Jabs one from Scorpions in order to avoid steps in the paint betwen black zones of the print and the white ones? scorpionscar

  9. Hi Swedisth, I'm from Spain.I thought that it will be the worth making it by my own instead of buying it cause purchasing in the USA means to pay taxes in USA and then Here in Spain. This issue increases the prices of the truss rod in this case too much. Juan Carlos
  10. I post some pics about the tasks I asked: I'm very interested in the process of making this kind of truss rod and about how to make this piece of wood and how to glue it.Thanks in advance: Juan Carlos
  11. The idea is to install a double action truss rod with a strait channel like gibsons and them glue the fingerboard.I would like to learn to make this type because if I buy them to USA they are too expensive and seems to be simple to fabricate on my own but I don't know how to proceed. Juan Carlos
  12. ¿Can someone explain me how to make a truss rod like stewmac ones? On the other hand I want to build a stratocaster but I have a doubt about a piece of different wood glued on where the truss rod nut goes. Thanks in advance: Juan Carlos
  13. Hi, a friend of mine has told me if I could install an active pup in his passive guitar combining both active and passive pups. The problem is that the guitar (Jackson) is one volume, one tone, 3 way switch. Is is posible to combine both pups or is not a good idea due to I think they both should be in different circuits with a tone and volume control separately for each pick up.What do you think? thank you so much in advance: Juan Carlos
  14. Yes acpken, I did it.I did everything like the diagram of Seymour Duncan I enclosed.I think the problema may be about the wire, I didn`t use shielding wire, and the cavities of the electronic are no shielded.I'm going to replace the wire and use shielding paint.all solders are following the diagram...

  18. Yes, I've grounded it.I was afraid of the wire broke down when inserted the bridge stud, but I tested with the polimeter touching the back of any pot with one pole of the polimeter, and the bridge or any metal part with the other. It beeps and mark 0.00 Ohmnius
  19. Hi, mi name is Juan Carlos, I'm a newbie at this fórum and I've felt free for asking my question in thisi topic because is something similar to Dalandser problema.I've built an explorer model of guitar but when I finally plugged it, I ended up with a horrible hmm noise that goes away completely when I touch strings or every metal part included strings.I point out: -I've been testing in different equipments, amp, and amplitube on computer and the noisy is the same -I've tested different guitars and others don't have this ground issue -I've tested different cables -I've tested the circuit with the digital ohmmeter and it may seem to be right Following I enclose the diagram I've used and some pics. In the Jack pic, the black wire goes to ground and the red one goes to tone pot and to switch The pick ups are ceramic Gibson 496R (neck) and 500 T (Bridge) I'm afraid I'm going insane. If someone coud help me I'd ve very grateful. Thanks for advance: Juan Carlos
