and help him understand that "different strokes" aren't bad, just different.
"It takes different strokes to rule the world!"
I think Gary Coleman wrote this catchy tune on a Fender Squier.
(I know ,that was bad )
-
Looks great.Good Job
-
what exactly makes a squier strat gay?
This is a very good point. Using the word "gay" as an adjective for something that is crap, bad, undesireable, etc, is in very bad taste. I am not gay myself, but I find this usage very offensive.
Get over it!
He`s making a joke about a guitar(guitar forum ),you`re making a reply about political correctness.
Everyone can`t think the same. Why are people so easily offended?

buzz feiten, buzz shmiten thats what i say!

Yeah,I won`t tell him about the guitar I made out of I-beam to play heavy metal

After seeing that Yamaha I just grabbed a chisel and hammered my frets.Bent the snot out of `em,but it sounds great!

I started an archtop two years ago!It was my first guitar too.I spent a ton of time just making the molds to hold the sides for a 17" guitar and an 18" .
I also made a bender out of 4" stainless pipe.I egg shaped it,welded a top on it and put a 300 watt light bulb in it.I carved the maple backplate by hand, and that`s where I stopped! LOL I still got a hotbox loaded with AAA flame bookmatched and killer solid spruce.Enough for three guitars.
I need to get back to that.I`ll try to post some pics of that fiasco. It`s all good,it just took sooooo long tooling up and making stuff for it,I went on to painting pictures .

I have a question .
I am painting my guitar and I need to tape over the inlay before painting.
Is there a clear tape you can paint over, because I can`t see the inlay through the tape to trim the masking tape around my logo?(does this make sense?)
-
That is beautiful work!
-
That really looks great!
How does it play/sound?

I ordered some more shims almost a week ago and still haven't recv'd them yet. I think the part # is BP2214-001 ($4.50). Good luck. I think I may grab on of my feeler guages and hack it up if they don't show up soon.
For anyone who wants to calculate the sizes of the shims from feeler guages... I checked the Dr. Math forum particularly the section for circle for any helpful formulas. This diagram seems to apply to this situation:
with the formula: d = sqrt(4r^2-c^2)/2 being the most salient. Calculate your values for d (the shims) with r being either your starting or ending radius and c being the distances between 3rd/4th, 2nd/5th and 1st/6th strings.
It'd probably be easy enough to "trial and error" the correct feeler guage sizes but for those who want some mathematical rigor, the above should be a good starting point.

Now I know I was meant to work with my hands!
Thank God I`m an artist

For over $100 for that,I wouldn`t.Just dots for fret markers on a Les Paul don`t look right but that`s just my opinion. If times an issue and you`re looking for a paul, you can get a finished Paul Turser or Epi. more time/cost effective than all the work for that thing, otherwise ,build a beautiful neck.Alot more satisfaction.
A small flatsawn piece of wood will make a nice laminate neck,18$ fretboard $6 in frets,.done! (a little more than that,but.....)

those shiny paint pens.
I'd clear over it.
but i'd prolly test it first, on scrap painted wood.
see if the laquer or whatever you put on it eats the paint pen or what.
Yeah,that`s what I was worried about.But no time,it`s tonight
