  1. Recently I have been working on a strat body, stripping back the paint to the wood. I usually wear a dust mask when I am sanding but this time I never really got around to getting one out, so I've been sanding for the last few days without a mask. Yesterday my brother was here and he went into my working space for a very short time. No work was being done or anything but he seemed to breathe in some of the dust and was coughing the rest of the night. It kind of made me worried. I will be wearing a mask again from now on and today I am going to vacuum my work space to get rid of the dust built up. You guys think there is any possibility I may have done some long term damage to myself?
  2. FINISHED! Sounds great, has taken over as my main guitar. http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat10.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat11.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat12.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat13.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat14.jpg
  3. It was either foil or conductive paint, and I didnt have any paint at the time.. so foil it was. It works fine.
  4. Well I've neally finished my strat. I've done everything I can until the electronics arrive in the mail. Bad light, but here are some pics: http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat08.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...log/strat06.jpg Blog showing progress (sort of): http://ignitionguitars.blogspot.com/
  5. why dont you swap the pickups around, it would take 2 seconds
  6. Thanks I use an australian brand called White Knight for the primer, colour and clear coats. Work on the strat has stalled because I've been struck down by the flu. I was saying before I'd have it done by last Sunday, but it probally wont be done for another week or more now.
  7. you need to host it on the net somewhere then you put the address in between img tags like this: [img ] http://www.domain.com/picture.jpg
  8. This one wont be sold, its my main guitar that i'll get famous with I'd make another if someone wanted one though definitely not true
  9. Thanks. Yes they are GFS Dream 90's. Got them from their site rather than ebay though. I was actually going for a modern look, so its cool that you picked up on that
  10. *edit* check 2nd page for pics of strat My first guitar project: http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-01.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-04.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-06.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/skulleada/...tblog/SG-08.jpg Was an epiphone g-400 but everything was replaced, so the only original part left was the wood. Figured epiphone didnt really deserve the credit for it anymore, so I made up my own brand, "ignition".
  11. Progress: http://www.flisk.theclan.com.au/guitar/stratproject01.jpg About to put some sanding seal on it.
  12. Looks great! Hope your son appreciates this, such a awesome gift.
  13. 4 hours of sanding with 180 and its starting to look better... man this is going to take a long time ...and yeah i normally sand with the grain but this area had some paint on it that was very hard to get off so i was going all over the place.
  14. I was sanding until about 2am last night and I couldn't see what I was doing to the wood. Can I fix this by sanding lightly with some extra fine paper? Originally intended to go for a natural finish but I guess I can cover my mistake by using paint instead.
