  1. i cant plug it in rite now due to lack of cablidge
  2. I have a squire strat right now but i got sucked into the whole 'strat pack' dealy. Strats play good as a 1st guitar but make sure you dont buy the pack. Buy and ibanez or jackson and buy it for the sound not looks. looks will end up costing 100$ more than needed.
  3. As talking about PAF humbuckers and how there pretty good, why are these soo cheap? And theres 2!' http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Blowout-Hot-Paf-Hum...1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. Today i recieved my Digitech Death Metal single effects pedal and opened up the pedal to where the battery goes. The is a hole where you can see the chip and it its clearly written DIGITECH GRUNGE (DGR). Is this the wrong chip and have i been scammed? i bought it for rather cheap AU $73
  5. Im thinking of buying a EMG Select for my rr, but im not sure if they are good. I have heard EMG are a top brand but since its pretty cheap im not sure if they are good: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/EMG-Humbucker-For-G...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. what would be the best pickup on a tight budget for metal?
  7. i painted a chrome piece without scuffing using enamel paint and let it cure for a day and it turned out good. im not sure if the strings will scratch it so i sanded it back down. i thought the curing time for spray enamels were quick but i guess i was wrong. Ill stick to enamel for today and see if it scratches tomorrow after curing.
  8. I tried painting over chrome today by scuffing it then painting it with cheap enamel spray paint. I sanded the chrome down at the start till i could see a pinkish color in the metal. It looked good after i finished it although some of the paint flaked off while i was cleaning it. If i rub hard enough the paint will come off. Will it make any difference if i use primer? How can i fix the problem? Is it the paint, lack of primer? I heard that Dupli Color Metal paint should work.
  9. It reminds me of a guitar part of the Dean Baby collection
  10. pretty sick dude. what color will it be?
  11. @curtis p - i dont really know what each thing on the bridge actually does, but ive played around with it a little and it seems lower but i am getting 'fret buzz'. The body part of the body that is body shape of the V. The middle part of the V is more like a U. @crafty - the pickups in the humbucker are joined together and have no split in the middle of the two. If i push down on one of the pickups, there is a sort of see - saw effect.
  12. the guitar looks alrite to me but i rekon it should have been shaped like the actual batman logo.
  13. upon delivery of the jackson rr copy today (hornsay r43) i have noticed a few flaws that may affect it. -finish is not very smooth -some parts are not properly painted -whammy bar insert is loose -the pickups are 'fused' together -the neck is really high off the body -plastic riser on neck bolts -unusually wide neck (about 1cm more) -unusual 12th fret marker size -noticable material color different when the neck meets the headstock -wierdly positioned strap button (on neck) -string hieght is too high (how do i fix that!!) -body has a round curve instead of sharp overall it still can be used as a project.
  14. will copies of squire strats and Jackson RRs usually have the same hardware and parts dimensions as the originals?
  15. i didnt really understand all those technical guitarry words but i think i know what your trying to say. EDIT: just wonder if this will fit my Squier Strat copy.
  16. Is all hardware universal or will i have to find a specific size bolt for each guitar?
  17. Hey i happen to really like the Epiphone Gothic series. There the sweetest guitars ive ever played, besides some Ibanez ones. I wanted to start an Epiphone Gothic collection. BTW - Im 16 and been playing guitar for like 3 years and pretty new to the whole modifying scene. - I would like to buy one of the knock off necks but i am on a limited budget and live in Australia, every thing works out really expensive. Ebay also usually doesnt ship to Aus.
  18. thanks for the feedback. Im not sure what paint Squier strat copies have but it has been chipped and i can already see the wood parts, so the paint should come off easy. Im going to be doing 1 coat of primer then 4 coats of matte black, then enough coats of clear that it still looks matte. I still need to read up on some pickguard, neck hardware, tuners, plates and pickup painting. Im on a tight budget, so im not buying them already painted. I should start work soon but will not be able to assemble the strat due to lack of soldering tools. I really have to wait to paint because i dont have a paint gun so i have to rely on my school which starts next month.
  19. I am starting a new built based on Epiphone's Gothic Series. I am painting a Squier Strat and Jackson Flying V. These wil be the first gothic version of a strat and jackson flying v ever made. Jackson flying V: I will be painting both guitars fully matte black (excluding fretboard). The hardware, bridge, jack, humbuckers, tuning keys, whammy bar, strap buttons, pickguard, plates and pick up switch will be painted matte black and the tuning knobs will be replaced with gibson ones. The letters XII will mark the 12th fret, but im not sure how to put it on or where to get it. On the headstock of the both will have the epiphone gothic logo. Both guitar will hopefully eventuall recieve new humbuckers and strings. The Flying V will be shipped to me sometime before the 28th. I dont want to start on the stratocaster quite yet because ill have nothing to use. I am a newbie when it comes to painting anything and from my understanding what you have to do is: - use coats paint thinner to remove the paint - cover neck attachment part - soak in acetone - primer it - paint 11 coats - polish correct me if im wrong.
  20. If i clear coat a matt black guitar, will it have a glossy finish (unwanted)? How many coats of matt black paint will i have to do when painting my guitar if i do not put any clear coat? Is primer needed when working with non glossy matte paint?
