About skotty2

  1. I can't speak to all of the aspects of the file, as I just compared it quickly to some of my notes. I did find some discrepancies when comparing the annotation vs. the annotated dimensions taken from pg 50 of Jason Lollar's pickup winding book. (ISBN 0-9662599-2-0) For example, Mr. Lollar shows the pole pieces as being flat (no radius, early to mid-50s spec). In the file from SwedishLuthier, the polepieces are radiused. (late 1950s spec) Also, differences in bobbin thickness are apparent: Mr. Lollar shows bottom bobbin thickness of 3/32" (0.0938") and top bobbin thickness of 1/16" (0.0625"). In the file from SwedishLuthier, both top and bottom bobbins are shown as 1/16" (0.0625") thickness. Note that I am not saying one set of prints is necessarily more "accurate" than another, this guitar design is 74 years old at this point, and dimensions and tolerances have changed over the years, including those from Fender itself! Cheers
