How do you tell if pots are tone or volume? I got the package from a guy in massachussets today and I can't tell which of the 3 pots he sent me are volume or tone.
I'm using a pickguard as well as wooden mounting rings. And not that large of a universal pickup cavity, just one large enough to accomodate a single Dimarzio Fred humbucker in the bridge position. (the wooden mounting rings will be topside.)
answer: universal pickup cavity is pictured on this strat body from stewmac, it allows any combination
of single coil and humbucker pickup configurations.

No it doesn't at least not in the version I found. I think it is the older version of it. And would I still be able to use a humbucker mounting ring with a universal pickup cavity???
I need some dimensions for a humbucker cavity. also Could I use a universal pickup cavity and still use a mounting ring? If yes could someone be kind enough to give me the dimensions????
you can decide on whatever cavity size & shape you want them to be.
I may be able to help but it depends on if I can find the measurments I wrote down or not.
Godin I was simply stating that so far it is saving me money from buying one in a store. And verhoevenc is wrong about it sound like crap cuz I know this guy from another site and he is very helpful and he used to have 20 guitars before verhoevenc was probably out of diapers so I think he is trustworthy of good working equipment and I also got 2 effects pedals from him. and the neck was a good buy for my project. and the wood was never used at all it was built sat on a workbench for years I used it no cracks no nothin and I'm quite satisfied with the body.
Sorry for swearing and I admit I acted inappropriately and immaturly so I apologize for that.
so far it's cost me only $27 including humbucker, switchs, and pots from a nice man in massachussets, wood from old unused cub scout projects sitting in garage, and a neck off of ebay
Uh no I want the STRAT hardtail not some top loading thing. and since guitarfetish doesn't post shipping cost I don't know how much it'll cost me to order one from them.
I saw a article quick stop drill press table in the recent Popular Woodworking showing a drill press with what looks to be a router bit in the chuck. Would this work in place of a router if I can't find someone with a router?
