  1. Well gang, now thatI fiured out how to post pictures I wanted to get your houghts on the first of 3 projects I am working on I was always into the guitar that Paul Gilbert used in the Racer X days that looked like the bastard child of an Ibanez Iceman & an Ibanez destroyer. For years I had beed looking for this guitar & after researching the subject I found out that Ibanez never offered it as a production guitar. From what I understand, only Paul Gilbert & Bruce Boulette were the ony ones to ever own such a piece Well, I wasn't about to let that stop me I made some alterations to fit my tastes (Pauls had a Kahler trem & Mini Humbucker in the neck position), but let me know what you think
  2. Derek: As long as you don't have to work a booth...NAMM is like a musicians Disneyland! The California shows are the best (winter NAMM) I think of it like a kid going through a toy store before Christmas...but with rockstars there in the store! It is a good time & usually a great way to get connections in the business Dave
  3. yea, I just found out how BAD geocities is! After posting all the pix of the 3 projects I just finished, I found out that you can't link directly to the pictures, the site has an obnoxious amount of pop up adds and then went DOWN!!! There has got to be an easier & free way of doing this Derek, who do you use??? Dave
  4. I LOVE McNaughts! Awesome quilts..flawless finishes...play like a DREAM But they cost a ton! However, I do believe that sometimes you get what you pay for! Dave
  5. I wish I was...Egnater is now working with Randall amps (as well as doing his own stuff), Reverend has got some good endorsers, and I have NO JOB!!!! California is probably out of the question....are you going to Summer NAMM? I may be going there Dave
  6. I sure am! The Strat and RG are top routes (meaning that they have a pickguard) The iceman is a rear route As long as you pay for the shipping (from Detroit) & do something cool (again, I think an album cover would be awesome), you can have one Did you want to keep it when you were done, or return it? Let me know Dave
  7. It reminds me of the first time I saw Paul Gilbert perform at NAMM I was a demo guy for Reverand guitars & Egnater Amplifiers, working the booth Anyway, durring the NAMM aftershow, Ibanez put on one of their famous NAMM events That year it was Paul Gilbert, John Pettrucci, Joe Satriani & Steve Vai Paul Gilbert was playing and all of the sudden you heard this soulfull melodic solo with a technique like you have never heard before & it appeared that he was playing it with his teeth (ala Jimi Hendrix) I met him afterward & asked him what he did on that solo...... He stepped on a tubescreammer & was singing into the pickup!!! I have been doing i every time we play out since Moral of the story Don't spend $1,000,000 on the electric Kazoo...you already have one
  8. I would be happy to donate a junk strat, iceman, or rg body to the cause As long as you guys do something cool with it! What about abum art...Like led Zep's firsr album?
  9. acrylic miror woul look cool as hell! Give us updates as the come dave

  12. Joe: Trying to post pix..They are uploaded, but I can't view them Can you help? Dave
  13. Alex: Be careful of the chloride,,It works much faster than the Muratic acid! In my opinion, the Muratic makes for a more authentic aging of the hardware Just my opinion Dave
  14. Alex: I am currently experimenting with a combination of razor checking & freezing to relic poly bodies (Scott...I am doing this to see if I can work on the body we discussed) Also, regarding the hardware do you need the tutorial that I have sent to a few perople on how to age hardware? If Brian would like it, I will send it to him as well to post as a tutorial Let me know..I am happy to help! Dave
  15. Alex: By the way...from one relic lover to another..I will be posting my 62 Strat relic pix this week-end Dave
  16. nevermind, they just put it in a new place Sorry for any confusion D
  17. For those who care...I was bumbed out to see that the PRS forum is now closed for business! Anyone know what the deal is & where there might be another PRS forum? Dave
  18. PROHIBITED TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR/DECORUM: - Personal attacks against other members, moderators, companies or people. - Insensitivity to other members. - Profanity or harsh language - Grandstanding & Exhibitionism - making a controversial post to elicit replies and argument Any questions?
  19. Where is a moderator when you need one? We have reprimanded & badded people for far less No one should be told to STFU, be called "stupid", or anything of the like on this forum You have a lot of growing up to do I will continue to do the work & build the guitars you can continue to critique Why not show off your "expertise" and post some of the work that you have done?
  20. Dude: Sayint "that is stupid" about someones project is not only close minded...it is against the forum rules (if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!) It's art man...if you don't get it , don't bash it! Thats like telling Picasso..."you're coloring outside the lines..." Relicing is a LOT harder to do than you might think As someone who love reliing & understands how hard it i to do well, I think it looks GREAT!!! Nice Work! Dave
