  6. thanks he made that template for me actually...but he lacks the measurements im looking for...thanks though and yes epiphone does make one but again they arent big sellers and the local guitar center dont even stock one
  7. explorer bass is a discontinued model....i believe since 1985........
  8. ive tried for months and searched the web but cant find anything on it....i guess ill have to go buy one to get the info
  9. can anyone point me in the right direction to get info on the explorer bass...such as url or a book i can buy.. thanks
  10. my les paul appears to be a 3 piece neck... its a 1977 left handed tobacco sunburst and i have to admit its fallen on the head stock and not break...i was stupid and just left it leaning on my bed and it slid to the side
  11. heres a trick a buddy of mine who works in an auto paint place told me long ago first mask off the area with tape where you want the stripe to be...the exact width and length....then put masking tape to the right and the left of that....then peal off the center tape piece....and you get a perfectly straight stripe...the 2 side pieces of tape form your borders...prepare your surface...then paint away
  12. actually i dont know what model strat i got but its was bought in 1977....a bud of mine also is 1.5 in thick...so we must be measuring it wrong
  13. thats very nice.... im also planning one day to build an explorer..but as a bass for my kid...trouble is trying to find an accurate template for it
  14. hi, ive noticed many of these after market bodies of the strat are made to be 1 3/4 in thick....ive measured my start and at its thickest point its approximately 1 1/2 in. ...any reason why they are 1/4 in thicker than a real fender strat body? maybe im not measuring it correctly
  15. yes there are water and oil filters
