  1. Why not fix the neck you already have ?
  2. Has anyone tryed this . I might give it a try i dont know yet. What do you guys think ?
  3. I have had to do this a few times, what i have found works best for me is MILLIPUT it is a two part epoxy putty. I have used it on wood and luthite guitars. I fill the hole with the putty then put the screw straight in and leave it to set ( about 24 hours) Make sure you do it rigth first time tho because you will find it very hard to get the screw out once this stuff sets lol. Hope this helps.
  4. You can use parana pine, it is the same density as alder, but not suited for clear finishes because it can be very knotty. Cedar is a good alternative to spruce for acoustic guitar tops.
  5. Yes it is called PTFE tape it is used to seal pipe joints.
  6. It depends on what sort of arm you have, push fit or screw in (fender style). With a push fit i put a very thin coat of nail varnish on the part that fits in the trem, this will tighten it up and keep it i place. On a screw fit arm i put a spring (out of a pen) in to the hole before i screw the trem arm in, be careful that you dont over tighten the arm. Hope this helps.
  7. Excellent work, i love the colours. Its like a 777dy meets the 777vdy very nice touch. Do you have any close up pics of the body? Was it hard spraying the vol & tone knobs ? Beautiful work

  18. I am going to be making a neck soon for my latest project, and i thought of having a go at making the rod instead of just buying one for a change. I have seen some rods like the U shaped one but using square section, but i dont know which would be best for a thin neck.
  19. Ok the U shaped one it is then. What do you think if i used a square section in stead of the U shape, do you think that would be better ? Thank you for your replys, anymore advise would be great.
