  1. Korsvenin We have some crappy quality recordings, that I wrote when I didn't even know any scales. But we'll have better songs for next year, we just need a small fanbase now.
  2. That looks awesome. I wish there were more companies that built guitars like this. Very unique.
  3. Could somebody provide me with a link to a very handy website, it calculates the bridge distance from the top nut. I want the bridge to be perfect, or close to it, so this website would be handle. And yes, I have searched the forums and Google.
  4. Okay thanks anyway. I'll just make do with normal dot inlays then.
  5. Could anyone recommend a strong varnish I could use, as I have an idea for the inlay, since I do not have the tools or time to do proper pearl inlay. I was going to spray the inlays on with a template, and then put a thin layer of matt varnish over the top, to avoid the paint rubbing off when I play. Will this be a bad idea? If so, any other recommendations?
  6. Well, it's thinner than my Super Strat, but that has a carved top so I guess it makes sense.
  7. The body is really long, as I said before it's about the size of a bass! = P I'll find a way of making the headstock go with the body better. And to Godin... The wood is called Deal... It's softwood, but it's quite hard due to me having it for years. The body is quite thin, 2 inches at the most. This means it is very light. I'm having it wired like a Gibson, so I can control both the volume and tone of each pickup separately. Finally, I'm having 2 humbucking covered pickups on it.
  8. Yeah, by "sanding" on the top of the body, I meant getting rid of a lot of that for easy access to higher frets. *Waits patiently for a positive comment*
  9. Well, it's just the neck and body (the top of the body needs sanding), but tell me how it looks! Keeping in mind that I'm only 15...
  10. Haha I'm so stupid. I understand now, thanks to pmarlin.
  11. These? It's just I don't have much of an idea really, where would the strings go to once they've gone through the TOM?
  12. I know... Being 15 years old, and having no experience with building guitars before, I need to know which model would be the best for this type of guitar. Or doesn't it make a difference?
  13. Okay, I'm now onto buying a bridge for my guitar project. I just want a simple cheap bridge that's easy to string. I want my guitar to be stringed through the body, so that the bridge isn't very visible, like this: Which bridge would be best suitable for this, out of the three on this Ebay auction?
  14. How about a Behringer? They do some cheap amps.
  15. Very nice. = D I especially like the weird red paintwork.
  16. I'm thinking of using this easy tutorial to do some inlay on my guitar neck. Click. However, won't the solder fall out, or come lose over time?
  17. I'd prefer to have two tone controls (one for each pickup), and two volume controls as well. I recieved the pickups today. They have 3 wires each. Could somebody direct me to a suitable wiring diagram for them?
  18. I have another question. The pickups I have bought are humbuckers obviously. The description states that they have "3 wires each, split to single if required". How will I wire the guitar up then? Gibson style, or another way?
  19. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums as you can see. I have been playing guitar and bass for about 3 years now, and recently purchased a new guitar. The pickups broke within a month, and I wasn't going to pay to repair it, so I sent it back. I got the money back, but it was the only one they had in stock, and I couldn't find a guitar that I liked. Therefore, I have decided to build my guitar. I have purchased some nice EMG pickups neww off Ebay that were going cheap, and I will also buy a neck off a website I have found. The only part I'm not simply buying and constructing, is the body. I'll probably keep updating this thread with questions, or progress. Here is a small version of the template for the body: http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/8571/gu...680x1032nq3.jpg My first question is this: I have seen a nice Jem-style neck with vine inlay on Ebay. It costs £14 more than a normal Jackson/Ibanez style neck, is it worth the extra money? Normal neck: http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/07/a8/69/97_1.JPG The lovely Jem neck:
