  1. what?!?! Well, i'm not a huge hendrix fan.. I just collect random info in my head, and i remember that one! I'm so dumb.
  2. Hell yea he is. All non-hendrix super-fans spell "Voodoo Chile" as "voodoo child" but in fact, it is chile!
  3. I think Drak put it best. Yea, it is a dumb thread... but ah well.
  4. ya, if you plan on doing this, i would (just by using common sense, not true expierience) use elctro harmonix pedals. They last a lifetime on a battery. (not really, only a few weeks) The last liek two weeks on one battery while staying plugged in. I think thats the only effect i would want built in. I mean I could go from a clean verse to a dirty chorus without moving, or a verse i was playing with a dist footpedal on, and wanted more dist for a solo, again without moving an inch.
  5. I never touch the wood! Sometimes when i play I'll be watching tv at the ame time, and i'll look at my fingers which seemingly aren't pressing on the strings at all are in fact, playing. I have the lightest touch you can imagine. But it is, a mojo. Or maple fretboard soul. I swear it, I really do.
  6. you never touch the fretboard wood. NEVER. Thats why there is no logical reason to why it seems faster. But i swear it does.
  7. looks like nyjbkim is on my side onm this one, haha.
  8. I got ya wes, but as i said to my buddy, kyle, it's more of a myth thing, than explainable and in science. John
  9. Yeah, it may be a myth, but i swer to god, maple slides faster. I SWEAR TO GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  10. Which do you seem to be able to do slides and bends on quicker?
  11. I don't know!!!! mybe it's caue i use the maple equipped ibanez to shred, and everything else for blues? It's not that i'm beter, just i can do 1st fret to 19th fret slides quicker..
  12. Mybe he used it as a backstage practice guitar, with the built in case amp and all?
  13. maybe it is just junk. But alot of people (even me) would swear to God that when they pick up a guitar w/ a maple fretboard it is just faster. I don't know why!! But i like rosewood the most. it looks coolest.
  14. yeah, maple fretboards just seem to play faster. Ask anyone!!
  15. hey look nice, not sure if they sound good. They're cheap, too.
  16. Anything by METALLLLLLLLLLLLLLICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  17. It's just a plain old regular hand jig saw. I believe craftsman... John
  18. you DO know about Stewmac, right? www.stewmac.com I mean they have tuners there. And black ones too, i believe!
  19. I love my dremel. MMMMMM. Also, i dig my 5-in-1, you probably don't know what it is, but it's a carpenters handtools thats a scraper, a roller brush cleaner. and three other things in one. I use the scraper side to pry, and cleaning out fretslots and stuff. Oh yeah, and my jig saw. screw band saws, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MY JIGSAW!!!!!!!I use it to cut headstock shapes, the neck shape, it would work for bodies. I just have this intense bond wioth my jig saw. I can cut perfectly straight lines, or follow a line (curved even) perfectly with this puppy. Yep yep. John
  20. Ok. A maple body won't give you much chuck, or growl, just a lot of high end. Get some mahogany or something. A figured maple top would be ok for the looks. Thats all. John
  21. i have a feeling it isn't fret buzz. He said he tried to change string action a bit. Brian i think you might be on to something.. and if it was the truss rod rattling around... well that would really suck. The slots in the nut might me too wide, so the strings are buzzin' around. I'm not sure what nut you have, but pics 'll help. Hittin' up the easy to fix possibilities first.
