  1. ummm, like yeah, even if I could afford one my hands would be shaking sooooo badly just from fear of dropping the thing that I wouldn't even want to strum it just for fear of a scratch or two, definately shadow box material, I dont even like picking up 1000 dollar plus stuff at the showroom for fear of dropping it and i get that shaky feeling
  2. umm, interesting, damn me, a big star wars nut like me wants one, my wall looks like a toy store, i have over 200 figures thumbtacked up, umm hmm guitars and starwars, my two favorite hobbies, what a bad combo for me thanks for the info, how the hell did i never hear about these yet?!?!?!?!
  3. thanks dude any opinions are appreciated, I did consider a soapbar pickup at one point, I thought maybe a decent hum in the bridge and a nice p90 or something similar in the neck thanks again Jeremy
  4. nah, my other 3 guitars stay the way they are, have no intentions of messing with something thats a good thing, i dunno, this will be my first custom per say instrument, so i have no ideal how its going to turn out, my strat project, plain and simple, classic strat config, cant screw that up but thanks for the advice
  5. like i said, i enjoyed everyone of them so far, i was joking around with ya dude, clamn down big guy, anyways, thanks for all the great links, much appreicated
  6. i guess it dont matter too much, im just waiting for a good deal on something, so i guess price will depict, i think upgrading the guard, the pickups, adding the extra single, and replaceing the neck will make this one neat guitar, like i said, im even debating trying to add a piezo bridge to get acoustic sounds outta it, why not, i dont mind screwing up a cheap guitar, and ill have all this great stuff for something else if it dont work out, thanks for your advice, i appreciate it
  7. its just cheap plywood, this is not a guitar that I want to sink tons of money into, i just want to play with different ideas, i think if i play around can get a decent sound outta it, the current pickups dont work at all, so i dont know if its a just a bad pot, or the capacitor aint any good any more, or just a broken wire some where, but they look very cheap and i doubt worth saving, so im thinking just a good set of nice humbuckers would be great, and i think ill just get all new pots, wires, etc, and that way i know its all going to work, plus im going to have a new pickguard made, so thats why i think i should decide first what im going to put in it so that they can cut all the needed holes and stuff, the bodys routed for hum single hum so i know the middle has to be a single coil sized and i think the seymour duncan hot rails single coil size would be a perfect middle, and split coil i think would give it a nice blend of tones, i might even think about a piezo bridge at some point, its routed extremely big under that guard, i gots lots of room for the active componets as well, since its a hardtail, i can always cut a spot in the back to add a plastic or make something on my own battery box as theres no trem springs in the way, ill try and get a camera and some pics up as soon as i can of this guitar, thanks for your advice
  8. Im debating on what pickups to get, most likely, im going to be doing a hum single hum config, with 4 conductor prefered for split coil op, the pickguard and current pickups allready wired up with a togle for split coil, i know im getting a seymour duncan single coil for the middle, but for the other two humbuckers, well thanks for your opinions Jeremy
  9. just give bear the stupid award already no actually enjoyed checking out the sites, thanks so much for everyone posting all this neat stuff, makes me wanna go chop down a tree and get busy
  10. bolt necks cause i can do those with ease, cant everyone, but some day im going to learn how to set a neck properly, then ill tackle the neck through, just cause i think they look so kick ass and they remind me of les pauls log wich started the whole electric guitar thing
  11. bear, im drooling over all tha stuff, stop the insanity!!!!!!!!!!! off to build that bar be que dobro now and yeah, i posted a decent site, well im happy, ok im lazy so ill let bear and alex do all the work but just reading about it instead of actually going to learn it aint no fun, thats so appealing, if i only lived in oregon oh well
  12. im jeremy wills, not just jeremy hehehehe so u can still be jeremy dont get all worked up for nothing
  13. i looked around, als aint listed as far as i can see, well it dont matter, im not worried about the pickup bobbins, or anything else prize wise, its just a site i have thought about doing and thought i would share with someone, its a great opportunity, as i seem to do well with the bolt on screw together instruments, but an awesome classical guitar build from scratch would be so awesome, oh well, if it is not listed the bobbin overlay would be cool, zebra pickups are always neato Jeremy
  14. thanks dude, hmm a mother of toilet seat guard and a blue and white swirl, maybe a spiral, i can have a down the drain theme going, that would be cool thanks for the welcome Jeremy
  15. been a breeze to me so far, thumbs up for u fellows

  19. Hi, names Jeremy. Always a pleasure to find people who love music and fretted instruments. I seem to have more fun tinkering with stuff then actuallu playing it. I am always being asked, can you fix my amp or help me swap these pickups. I also have collected some spare parts too as people dont want the old things they are swapping for anymore. So here I am, basically I wanna pick peoples brains as this will be my first customized guitar project. I built myself a dead on 60's era strat, with those big SRV sized frets, solid black alder bod, mother of toilet seat guard, nice tex specials, nice replacement klusons, an original 62 bridge and saddles, all new cts pots, swicthes, etc... and I cut my own blank nut yeah!!! that was a bitch, you guys know, well its a great strat knock off, i could have bought one off the hook at the mars superblow out sale, but i figured i wanted to do it myself and learn more about this great instrument, now i have acquired a new guitar, wich is kinda kick ass if u ask me, cause it will be more unique. Its a mako traditionals, does anyone know about this instrument, its a mustang sized body, actually shaped real close to a mustang too, but it had a full sized neck with a strat sized and dimensoned neck pocket, so thats good, i dont like the 3/4 size neck anyways, but i love the small bod as im a 5 feet 4 inch guy who barely wieghs 110 lbs, i like the fact it has hum single hum routing, and its a hardtail, im not one to really utilize a trem so its better for me, i like that, pickguards probably going to get traced and sent off to get a new one cut, but the p/u config, control swtiches, etc.... to be determined, im even thinking a nice piezo bridge would be awesome, so help, ideals, suggestions, ill try and get some pics of this thing up so you guys and make suggestions, im most likely going to repaint it, im thinking butterscotch blonde or a nice cream white with a red tortise as i love that combo, being a mustang sized body and with a duosonic/music master like pickguard, thats what it resembles, im thinking maybe those electronics, i dunno, necks gotta go, its badly warped and the worn almost to the wood frets reflects this, someone loved the hell outta it, well i have rambled enough, this thing is not like if it screw it up, im gonna be hopping mad, this thing is like my great project guitar for playing with ideals, so help please, and if u read this far, thanks for reading it all the way to to end, i might need parts, pickups, etc, so if you have something extrodinarly awesome lemme know and we can chat about it, ok ill let ya get back to your website now, thanks alot Jeremy
