  1. kings_x: That is sad to hear dude. That guitar is built VERY well and it is a hard to build guitar in comparison to a simple solidbody. If you did not do that ugly color I would have voted for it immideately. I am sure the color is the reason for your lack of votes. But if your customer wanted it that way you had no choice. Next time enter something in a more pleasing color and I am sure you'll win or at least get many votes....
  2. Dude....nothing to apologize for....it was damn close to what I need and I am thankful for you trying to help.
  3. Good idea Matt. In my search I already found out that stewmac sells dyed wood bindings. But this will be for a metal axe where pretty woods are not the aim this time, so I want red plastic binding material. Somebody HAS to know a place where I could get that stuff....
  4. Thanks swirlslave! Unfortunately the inlays they sell are perloid and not MOP. Additionally I am more looking for a real company not ebay, as I will need a steady supply....
  5. Hi! Does somebody know a place where I can order red or colored binding material? Not only black & white? Thanks, MK!
  6. Hi! My usual supplier for sharkfin sets went out of business it seems. At least he does not answer emails and the website is down. Can you recommend a good supplier for jackson style sharkfin sets made of MOP? Thanks in advance, MK!
  7. Wow....stunning tops....what make are these guitars? Or are the built by hoby builders?
  8. Wow....excellent work. Could have come out of the PRS factory! How did you spray that burst?
  9. Great guitar! Especially the finish is awesome! Did you paint that guitar yourself or was it painted by a finishing company? If not how did you achieve such a flawless finish?
  10. Drak whats up? Let the man do his controls as he likes to instead of calling him a beginner only because he wants many controls.... First of all: I hate the Tele shape. But this guitar looks awesome. The figure of the wood and the workmanship is excellent. Put it into GOTM. I would vote for it. Congrats on that beautiful work!!!!
  11. @Curtis: Don't get wrong. i did not want to say that you are unable to play these songs. I cannot know that. I just wanted to make the point that it is always better to play something simpler tight and perfect instead of screwing up something more difficult.
  12. Curtis there is only ONE thing thats important. Okay songs you can REALLY play excellent. If you play something simple an play it great you will impress much more people then if you play something difficult and play it bad. Even some simple AC/DC song like TNT will convince much more people then a badly played Seek&Destroy....
  13. I voted for the Leviathan! Very cool and original body style, interesting finish and flawless execution ala Jeremy. Excellent work dude! That acoustic is very impressive too....the finish is so cool and building an acoustic is way more difficult than building an eletric guitar, but acoustics simply are not my cup of tea, so Jeremy had to get the vote.
  14. You CAN do everything! But I doubt it makes much sense to do more frets then 27! With a 25,5" scale and 24 frets the last frets are already quite small....a little smaller and they become unplayable I think....Just calculate how much difference between the last frets you'll have with that scale and compared it to the distance between the 23th and 24th on a standard Ibanez. I would make smaller fret distances then that....
  15. Thanks!!!! And I will definately keep you informed! I will use the wood for a Rhoads V....and this time I might make in progress pics.... Thanks, MK!
  16. Not even that is neccessary! As far as I know the Jem and the UV body are identical. I did it that way on my 7-string and the neck is perfectly accesable.
  17. Thanks alot for all the answers! Exactly! Did you deal for Fender? I was always convinced that this guitar is Alder. I guess thats correct then? Concerning American and European Alder: I can get both of them thats why I ask. I suspect what Lex said: I don't think American companies like Fender and Jackson would import Alder as their is enough arround them already. Anyway....I think I'll go with American Alder as both species cost me the same and I want to get as close to the sound of my Fender as possible. Thanks, Marcel!
