Fantastic features on the guitar, it also looks and sounds gorgeous

Always great to see and hear a guitar getting played at the end of a build and that one sounds fantastic

That is an awesome guitar, so many cool touches, my favourite is the headstock, front and back and the fact that the whole thing is so metal, rawk and roll.

Looking fantastic. such great mahogany, Total shielding of the cavity makes such a difference to reducing extraneous noise, especially at high gain and volume. What sort of music is going to be played on this guitar?
-
Yep that fretboard looks inspirational, when the guitar is finished the inlays are just gonna influence you to pick up the guitar and play, beautiful work

Thanks Muzz.
I Hadn't really given the first song any thought.
How do you feel about Blue Jeans Blues?
SR
Yes ZZ Top's track from Fandango! would be perfect

Absolutely beautiful Scott, that is an awesome guitar, it won't be long until string up, what is the first song you will play on it?

So much soul in this guitar Scott, I love it. It is amazing the difference a one piece top makes, just don't put a guitar with a book matched top too close to it, the book match will warp up with embarrassment
-
That is looking fantastic already, your nephew is going to be the envy of all his friends when it is finished. I haven't heard of Norway Maple before, I like the grain.

Unique and beautiful, very satisfying to get the vid at the end of the build

OK, this build is absolutely awesome

Yep this is a masterpiece, love the creamy coffee swirls in the grain and contours and the evolution forward from the Ibanez inspiration, beautiful work.
-
That is an amazingly beautiful guitar, great evolution beyond the PRS design and after looking at the pics I had to go and get a cappuccino and a caramel slice
-
The emergence of the modernistic guitars really was a golden age, I like the look of your plan and I am looking forward to seeing some sawdust

I used Rustoleum rattle can lacquer. I will probably not use this again as it still hasn't cured very well, but it did take to wet sanding fairly nicely:
I finished a guitar in Rustoleum and it cured well after a month except I had to recoat the bits that sat on the foam in the guitar stand with two pack because the foam reacted with the Rustoleum and went dull. Your guitar looks awesome though, great job on it

Very good idea to route the neck pocket in the blank first, as you say it gives the router lots of support, also you can reposition the body outline slightly if needed when you put the neck in place and recalculate the centre line. Good luck with your second build

The colour looks fantastic, the binding really sets it off.

I would try filling with veneer and re-cutting first. If that all comes bask out when you re-slot it, then go with CA or epoxy might even be better and clamp it down white the glue cures.
I've got three guitars with 23 frets...
SR
Between us we have five, I love guitars with 23 frets, I don't know why, they just look cool
