I didnt end up bolting mine to the jig, i just slid it across the top to go back and forth then cleaned it up with an orbital sander with 100 grit, it worked for me
I remember seeing the guitar with epoxy/microballoon inlays and was wondering if black epoxy alone will work as an inlay. I'm using a maple fretboard so I dont want the epoxy to end up staining it and having to remake my neck. The reason I'm trying to go the easy route and not inlay premade letters is A. I can use my own font and B. its my first inlay/neck and I thought this might be easier
Thanks,
Matt
I wanted to see if anyone else bought the 70s strat templates from guitarbuildingtemplates.com? I noticed the neck pocket and the neck templates do not fit together at all, I have to take out about 1/16th of an inch out to get it close to getting in the pocket. Is this normal with laser cut templates, or is it just mine?
I ended up getting the masonite ones so I wouldnt have to make my own (it was hard to make them so accurate). I ended up buying the 70s because of the oversized headstock, but thats just personal preference. Adding a floyd might be a little challenging, but I have seen cheap templates on ebay to route it. The route for the floyd will be bigger and the nut route will need to be extended into the first fret to accept the locking nut
Im looking for a truss rod on lmii and wasnt sure what the difference between
http://www.lmii.com/CartTwo/thirdproducts....tion+welded+nut
and
http://www.lmii.com/CartTwo/thirdproducts....dard+welded+end
are, are they both double acting and only one is rubber coated?
hey, I just started my hardtail strat build and I know there isnt a difference with the neck pocket of a 21 and 22 fret neck since a 22 is an overhang, but is there a difference in the pickguard cut where the neck or bridge part is?
Thanks,
Matt
