  1. Thanks nyjbkim and rob that line at the bottom seems to infere a limit to the number of posts you can make, and I thought I saw 50 mentioned somewhere
  2. I have come across this UK site HERE the prices seem reasonable, and the hardware pretty good. Does anyone know anything about them. Also I had a catalogue from craft supplies and the variety of woods that make up there body blanks and book matched tops is impressive. One I particularly liked is "Zebrano" obviously it is stripped, with various shades of brown, has anyone used this timber? I think it would look great with gold hardware and green abalone inlays..........Hmmm Just a question about my queries I have used 11. How many do I have and if there is a limit how do I get more.... Thankyouverymuch
  3. I have been into town today looking at guitars to get an idea and I have noticed that it appears many of the bridges that are fitted seem to have adjustable bridges for the individual strings. Am I right and does that mean you have a little "room for error " when fitting the bridge because of this. I love the feel of the Jacksons over the strats' mainly because of the thickness of the bodies, is there any particular reason why they differ so much
  4. Not having built a guitar myself (planning my first one ) but speaking from a carpenters point of view, ferrules are there for a purpose usually they protect the wood and spread the load evenly arround the opening. So if you can get the ferrules in then I would definately go for them
  5. I would go with chrome accessories keeping everything uniform. It looks much better then. Ask any woman, thats why they buy a whole new outfit when they go out to buy a pair of shoes "well I didn't have anything to go with these "
  6. could you get friendly with someone in the states get them to "buy" it for you and put it in the post for you ????
  7. Thanx 4 the feedback people. Stew macs is a great site I liked the fact that you could copy and paste the part number into their search box and see the item. I assume a "humbucker" is a type of pick up ? Is there a stew macs type of shop in the UK?
  8. WOW that is amazing the brickwork on that wall is very impressive
  9. Thanx 4 the quick reply . i'm a carpenter so most of the tools I have covered. A list of guitar parts would also help, because this is my first I will probabley buy a pre-slottef fretboard
  10. O man what a great debate...........the best thing is no one is right or wrong, marvelous
  11. I have done a lot of online research on making a guitar. This will be my first attempt, and having very little to do with electric guitars ( I play classical and acoustic ) could any one furnish me with a shopping list. I am planning it around a strat with 2 pickups ..... but open to suggestions many thanx
