This is my second guitar, so be gentle
Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard fretted with jumbo frets.
The "inlays" on the head and fretboard are some kind of acryllic (spelling?) plastic.
I have lots of "in progress" pics if anyone is interested...
-
remember, nobody likes a ****
hrmmm.... I do
-
Tough month!
But... I finally voted for Lex
-
Hi!
The back is stained blue, but on the mahogany it looks green
I did it just like you said but I also stained the sides black and lightly sanded the black a bit to show some blue (green )
-
Very nice guitars, all of them.
But I had to choose one so... Drak got my vote
-
Vendelcrow, did you know that you can buy most international mags online:
-
So you painted the reflective stuff black (or is that just an illusion?)? Does it still reflect just as well?
No, the reflective still looks like mirror, I'll take better pics when I get some daylight here
-
JFC, you did that with pain cans?
Yes, duplicolor metallic paintcans.
The clearcoat is brushed on with nitrocellulose lacquer
-
OK, now its playable
Sorry for the bad pics.
I'll post some better pics later...
-
Maybe something like:
-
WOW!
Thank you all!
-
I cant wait to see the finished guitar.
Very cool stuff
-
wow, thats awesome JFC!! how did you draw it?
Curtis
I made it in CorelDraw
Here is one without the text
If you want I can make it as .eps or .pdf, if you dont have Corel to open it with...
-
Yes, its a headstock for the real men
-
Design your own headstock....
Maybe something like this:
-
here in sweden it cost about 10 USD for 1m (1.26 m width) in inches that would be.... hmmm something else
-
Yes, there is a truss inthere, a homemade aluminium U-bar thing
The warlock shape, I dont really like it either, but since I got the body (complete with pups, tremolo and all) almost for free so...
Yes, I've done some painting before, but only with cans, a compressor and airgun is on top of my wishlist
I got the "chrome" vinyl from work, I work with signmaking, so its signmaking vinyl, almost like aluminium foil with glue on the back... well kind of
-
In progress...
I bought a trashed warlock VERY cheap
It looked like this:
after a bit of sanding I "rattlecanned-burst" it black and purple:
Then I "striped" it with mirror-like vinyl:
Since I didnt get all the broken neck parts I decided to make my own, mostly for practice:
Thats how it looks now, I'm brushing clear on it now.
More pics in a week or so when it's done

The Ibanez edge and Lopro are made by Gotoh, I think, or?
-
It's mahogany and maple from "Br. Holm": www.holm.nu

Hey, JFC, man, what tools did u use for the chamfers?
Hmmm... I dont know what "chamfers" mean.... and the online translators didnt help me much
keep up the excellent work. You're not very old, right? Even if all your guitars in the future we're this good and you didn't improve (which everyone does after their first, just like sex) you would still make an easy living at it.Thanks! Well, not VERY old but... I'm 29

Its nothing really amazing he shows, basic intonation and stuff like that, some factory setup measurements (wich are useless to me, I dont understand the imperial stuff )
-
I have a tremolo just like that one, but mine is a "Shift2001" no washburn, no wunder
Anyway.... I think it's crap
My second guitar...

The cavity covers are the same material as the inlays, laserengraved and painted black from "behind"
