avengers63
Well, poop. I was hoping to get in on the action for January. Oh well - that's me... a day late. We'll call this the PRAsh. Ash body - 1.5" thick Basic PRS shape, but with a belly cut, forearm contour, and severely rounded sides reminiscent of an Ibanez S. Westone neck - 25.5 scale Khaler flyer trem 2 Gibson P-90 pups. 3-position toggle 1 volume, 1 tone, abalone capped knobs The control cavity cover is a piece of bookmatched ash made from the cutoff. The input jack is a recessed electrosocket. The body was stained black, then sanded back, stained green, then sanded back again. The end result (discovered completely by accident!) is a very dark green in the grain with the remainder being slightly darkened. It was finished with shellac, then hand buffed. For your amusement, the build thread. http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff15/av...inished/f01.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff15/av...inished/f02.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff15/av...inished/f04.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff15/av...inished/f07.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff15/av...inished/f09.jpg

metz guitar paint
Hi, this is my first entry for Guitar of the Month,I call it the Retro Rocket, its a vintage Ibanez Stagestar, rebuilt for the 21st century!.Ive meticulously reshaped the body and scratch plate to suit,I tracked down an awesome USA made jackson neck, I then covered the whole lot including the origional H/S/H pups in a gorgeous coat of candy red pearl two pack.It has all origional hardwear,an Ibanez fat 6 bridge,I also added a locking nut to help it stay in tune and the chrome knobs and tuners from a later Ibanez.Hope u guys enjoy it! RFR
Mine is called the WB. The nickname is simplistic without any fanfare, as it is named after it's new owner, WIll Boggs of WB pickups. This is a player, not a "case queen". Will plays it every day. Specs and Features: Koa neck with Indian Rswd fingerboard. Vintage 60s fender fretwire 12 inch radius on a 22 fret thick Rswd board A mixture of gold and chrome hardware at the request of Will. The body is a solid chunk of hard ash from a reclaimed 25 year old solid ash bookcase. with mahogany top and back. It is completely chambered almost like a 335. Double bound body with bound "F hole." Both Body and neck are finished in Nitro Lacquer, with the body finished as thin as possible. There is no sanding sealer, no pore filler, just straight lacquer. Here is where it gets fun. WB custom wound pickups are installed. All pickups are wound with vintage 60s enamel wire and alnico magnets The neck has staggered pole pieces, and the middle has flat poles so there is more picking clearance. The bridge however is a monster! It is wound so it will go from that "Tele Spank" to a P 90 growl! OK, enough Yacking lets post pictures. While I don't expect to win, ( there are so many beautiful guitars entered here) the guitar is still a winner! Will Loves it and that is all that matters! Here is a video sound clip, http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm247/w...nt=102_4459.flv and another, http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm247/w...nt=100_4421.flv Thanks for looking!
