MKGBass
This has been occupying all of my time for the past several days. At this stage I sprayed a coat of rattle can black lac so i could be sure all the joints connected smoothly under the opaque finish. You can see in the pic that the surface is very rough (as it is sanded only to 100 grit...) This is not the final prep, it will be sanded through before finishing. All thats left is to cut the top and back binding channels and scrape the recurves. I'm going out of town for about 10 days, and Kirk will be doing these things as well as spraying the finish. Specs: (present and future) Maple top back and sides Solid mahogany core block Mahogany Neck Ebony Fretboard (will have Les Paul custom style inlays) Ebony headstock face b/w/b/w binding on everything future: Gibson BurstBucker Pro Bridge and Neck p/u Bigsby Vibrato Tailpiece Les Paul style wiring Undetermined tuners... And the pics...remember, bad sanding/paint job, it was just a check method...
