ansil Posted August 16, 2004 Report Share Posted August 16, 2004 also just to let folks konw the mod that is labeled as a shock proof or shock stopper, where they have the 400volt cap .33uf will also change the freq response of the pickups. its not as noticable on some and to my ears its actually quite pleasing but also a cap only stops dc voltage. something to consider. seeing as i have measured 400vac coming from the guitar to the microphone itself. i always measure the the voltage from one amp to another or to another piece of equipment. i dont' do the whole slap my hand test anymore. I've done the shielding mod on quite a few of my own guitars and the only time I got less than satisfactory results is when I stuffed the job out of my own stupidity..
