  1. Windows Media player has a good slow down...with no pitch shift...at least not that I can tell
  2. Put it in the neck and fret the pickup...although playing those frets would be useless it'd be a neat gimmick
  3. Actually yes I remember those...and the hot wheels I used to stick in the freezer....
  4. I was surfing around and came across this... http://www.trippininc.com/ Temperature activated paint....you can select the temperature and the color change... Doing that with body heat on a guitar....I can think of plenty of creative things.... it's just really expensive....does anyone know if you can get anything like this cheaper???
  5. Well I might as well help You should be sure to use directional ground wire...and also remember to install it the right way lest you start drawing energy from the ground into your guitar...that could become lethal since the earth is full of energy...I mean look at it...it's the earth!!! This won't be easy to find...not many people know about it but the benefits over the cheap poly-directional wire are hard to deny...I mean who wants a wire that lets electrons go any which way...it's anarchy... Just go to radio shack and ask to order it in...it's not in the catalogue but they special order it for customers that do a lot of business with them...if you get lucky they may have some left over in stock!!!
  6. I tried that.... It doesn't work how I expected it...I'm not sure why I'm likely doing something odd... Anyway...I came up with these at work...I was hoping for some proofreading http://picserver.mirror.twistspace.com/img...096009427//mp32 I'm just wondering if my thoughts are sound... as usual I'm sorry about my awful paint schematics... anyway the blend pot is done with the high resistance parts towards the middle of the circuit... also the instructions say not to ground to the case...I was curious how or if I should bother grounding them Anyone who wants to throw an idea out or take shots at mine feel free
  7. Plug it into an amp... it'll take a lot of hard work and patience...but eventually it'll look like a well loved and worn guitar...and you'll sound as cool as it looks...
  8. Are you for real....that's crazy??? is it just a little static jolt or is it actual a serious issue... Ummmm Wha??? I'll hope this was a joke... I guess I'm missing something???
  9. Grab one of those $20 fiberoptic whatzits for wall mart and use that
  10. Hmmm.... maybe a mini tremol-no to be compatible with these???
  11. I was under the impression that candlewax would work...but usually it's a mix of parrafin and beeswax Ansil or someone will probably have to clarify.... you're right about the double boiler...the tut on the main site uses one made from a pop can.... I think the last thing he was saying is there's other methods that work other than wax potting
  12. The Avatar is of Sam and Max... an awesome comic
  13. a 350 gig hard drive???? in a 486....are you for real??? Yeah I forgot about classic games...they're a pain to get running on new computers usually... I think Nasa was buying up old computers to repair their equipment a while ago
  14. I always wanted to try one with horseshoes... They look like they'd be fun to play
  15. I think he means the whole machine.... I don't know why you'd want one...you can get pentium 600's for around $100CDN...at least for desktops... about the only thing I can think of is a server or a controller for something...not as a PC??? meh...or he's just looking for a laptop that is dirt cheap and has great battery life???
  16. Directional audio cables??? are you serious...is there a diode in them? I haven't tried it for "shielding" but the foil from cigarette packs can be put on pretty nicely on almost much any surface...it's thin and pretty user friendly
  17. You could make the guitar one piece of acrylic....acrylic fretboard even... casper the friendly gibson... I'd think doing the guitar in acrylic would be a significant design change??? but you could do what everyone else does...modify the the hips and the horns...and some of the body countouring
  18. I'm putting some in...actually I'm pretty much wiring mine from scratch... come to think of it I think you did the drawing that I'm working from LK :-) thanks again for that Maybe I should take some pictures along the way...electronics is pretty boring to install though...it's not like the body work on the guitar
  19. Hmmm....you should paint it blue and hit kids in the face with it http://www.gainax.co.jp/flcl/products/pack1.gif Either you'll get that or you won't....it's an odd show either way I used to have some screen caps of her bashing someone with her bass in a nurses uniform...
  20. Yeah that's pretty scary....probably want to check the wall sockets too...
  21. Depends on how the guitar is put together...I'm guessing these aren't mounted to the pick guard... I'm guessing you're removing the controls... I'm guessing that if you're planning on wiring it the original way all you have to do is remove the controls and probably desolder the pickup wires...then put them all back in when it's been finished...or even do it that way just to get it out quicker and desolder them later while you watch the paint dry
  22. Do you already know how to do it with the 6 polepieces?? Really...it's not different...instead of having 6 round pieces you've got one big chunk of metal...
  23. It's two horseshoe magnets.... I can't remember the polarities but I think they're mounted so they oppose each other.... inside is a normal single coil PU So it's pretty much the same as your normal single except with a big magnet at least that's what I gather...I was tring to track one down for my guitar...they're tough to find the tough part would be finding decent magnets... I'd love a humbucker version...that'd be a riot....especially a really hot one :-)
  24. Nice job... I love the way it looks...the colours are so nice.... on a slightly related note I also like the smaller pics better
  25. Those are some sweet looking basses....I like the cut up strat too I saw a one off ibanez in florida that had a corrugated wood top inlaid with gears...it's hard to explain....but it was cool looking....
