chrisb0109 Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 Does anyone know the scale length used for the High and low e of novax fanned fret guitars? Also what would be the best way of cutting the fret slots for such a design?
ACSpike Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 There are no set lengths. One possibility is a gibson scale on the high e and a fender scale on the low e. But it can get much more radical than that. A quick search here or at mimf is very likely to turn up many opinions on the subject. As for slotting the neck, here is one suggestion.
ACSpike Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 Wait. Did you want to know the scale lengths on these necks? It seems odd to me that they don't post that on the page. I would think that would be an important detail. If you email novax guitars, I'm sure they will tell you. I could probably make a guess with a ruler and a calculator but it would likely be way off.
chrisb0109 Posted September 6, 2004 Author Report Posted September 6, 2004 Ok so say this guitar is going to be tunned to C A D G B e. will a scale of 24.5 on the high side and 25 and 21/32 on the low side would this work?
Kevan Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 PLEASE (PLEASE PLEASE) do a search prior to starting a new topic. Thank you. Novax/fanned fret system Topic: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=10270 THREAD CLOSED
