darren wilson
http://www.hotdotz.com I thought you guys might be interested. On a custom build, you might be able to integrate the array strip into an inset channel on the edge of the fretboard/neck.
Kevan
Hmmmm.... "... but also allows the HOTDOTz array to be installed or removed without harming the instrument." ...but then they say: "Notice! --> HOTDOTz arrays cannot be removed from an instrument then re-applied or transferred to another instrument without damaging the LED array." Setch
Er...so what's your problem with that? The dots can be removed without harming the instrument. However, removing the dots will fubar the connections between them. Have you ever tried to peel a sticker off, and keep it *and* the object it was stuck to in one piece? darren wilson
I bet with a razor blade and a bit of heat, you could peel it off fairly successfully. But then you'd have to find an adhesive that would work for sticking it to another instrument.
Kevan
Have you ever tried to peel a sticker off, and keep it *and* the object it was stuck to in one piece? Many times, and I was very successful each time. I was just saying it'd be cool if you could transfer it from one guitar to another (as long as the scale length matches).
Ki swordsman
maybe you can, you just need to somehow get the led strip off without damaging it at all, then put new adhesive on, id love to hear from anyone whos had these and removed them... there must be a reason they sound so confident the leds will fubar with removal.. maybe the strip can take only limited bending?
