whoofnagle
Well, I thought I would post a few pictures of my current project. I am working on a tele style body (template from guitarbuildingtemplates.com). The specs are as follows: - neck from an old fender tele -body: hollowed mahogany -top: maple pups: rio (muy grande) There is still work to be done: sanding, painting, mounting the pups (obvious from picture), making the control plate, string ferrules. A few more pics: back Another view Control Cavity
jojokell
Looks good so far. What color will you paint it? Jo
Maiden69
Mucha Glue I see inside the cavity!!!! , from the looks I think that you hollowed the body from the front and then smeared the glue on the cap instead of the body, this is not biggie, but Ithink that it would had looked mush cleaner with the control cavity clean. whoofnagle
Ithink that it would had looked mush cleaner with the control cavity clean Very profound comment. Seriously, you are right on, but this was the second top that I glued. I really had no idea I used that amount of glue until I cut it open. But I guess I know to use less next time. Maiden69
the only thing to consider is that you have enough for the job, and if you are doing it like this one (chambered), just put glue on the body, not the top. If it's a drop top on solid body, you don't need to worry about it. But the guitar looks great. And only you will now that the glue is there!
