gilmourguy Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 (edited) I just got a PRs santana se. And since its used in the shop the whammy baR comes with it in. But this is not a screw whammy and i cant just pull it out either. Does anyonew know how to get this type off? Edited December 12, 2004 by gilmourguy Quote
IvanV Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 hmm...weird can you get some pic or link? Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 santana se looks like the normal prs style trem, so I guess you should pull it out. Maybe it's a bit vacuum because there is no space between the trem arm and the nylon armholder. But I could be wrong about it Quote
bluespresence Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 My guess is that this design takes a straight/unthreaded bar type of whammy (like the Ibanez Edge) and someone put a threaded whammy in there (like a Fender or Yamaha)........don't ask how I know.......but if this is the case it may never come out short of drilling through the back of the trem and forcing it out. I do not recommend that course of action. My recommendation is leave it in and don't apply too much force trying to get it out. Quote
Sindlei Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 i'm surprised how little these people working in the shops know...my friend bought an ibanez rg2550 off the floor, and for a tremolo bar they gave him the cheapest looking completly wrong type for the edge tremolo...and they sell the correct bar there as well.
